Great Poutine But Not Celiac Safe. I’ve been coming to this place for a while now, with at least ten visits over the past few years. The food is pretty good but it’s not celiac safe despite having a separate gluten free menu, waiter assurances of no cross contamination, and supposedly separate cooking utensils. They have several “gluten free” options but my celiac friends have gotten sick here on multiple occasions. Most recently a group of 5 of us went. They have lots of seating inside and outside. The inside tables have taps built into the table, which is novel. They also have an “infuser” where they infuse random things into beer (like berries, coffee beans, etc) - it’s variable, sometimes great but sometimes not. Food prices are moderately expensive for restaurants, but beer prices are hugely inflated. Expect to pay $14-22 for most mains, but minimum $8 before tax for their worst beer. Alexander Keith’s was about 8.50 before tax (this is a 2-3 dollar beer in the LCBO). Two mains, one beer, one pop, tax and 15% tip was $69. its called beertown for a reason, as the beer selection is good, but be prepared for a heavy bill if you’re drinking. The food is good though, especially the poutine with brisket and truffle aioli sauce. Fish tacos are reliable too. Portions are generous. Service speed is good. Staff are average; waiters can be good but I’ve had two instances where they’ve been overly awkward or intrusive, trying to start a long conversation with us when we were trying to have a private dinner. At our most recent trip the server spilled a drink on me and didn’t apologize, they just said “that is not what I wanted to happen,” then walked away. They returned a few minutes later and tossed several napkins on the table, leaving us to clean up their spilt drink. A simple sorry would have been fine, but they didn’t seem too interested in their job. Some waiter variability is expected at most restaurants I guess. Anyway, this place is best suited to casual/informal dinner with friends, but I’d go elsewhere if you plan on having multiple drinks as it...

Nice restaurant/bar that is open fairly late on weekends. The atmosphere, while loud, is fun and relaxed. There are bar-style seating areas in the "upper area", and more relaxed leather seats in the "lower area". While it does get loud here, I feel like that contributes to the relaxed atmosphere and is not too annoying. One thing I have to commend them on is their choice of lighting, which is soft white and dim! Not many places offer dim lighting, which I find to be much more pleasant, especially late at night.

The service was pretty top notch; the server kept coming back to check up on our table at regular intervals and brought the bill quickly when asked.

The food here is by far the biggest detractor. We had several side dishes/appetizers, all of which were mediocre. I also had the blackened chicken, which was so salty, it was unbearable. I hope, for their sake, that it was only a one time mistake.

Overall, this place is still worthy of a visit, especially if you are looking to get drinks and relax. Hopefully their appetizers have improved in quality since my last visit, but as for the food, don't expect too much as that is not their primary goal here anyways.

Atmosphere: 9/10 (may be too loud for some) Service: 10/10 Food: 4/10 (bland in some cases,...

Visited on a weekday around lunch time with my husband and our two children. Restaurant wasn't too busy, and I was pleased to see that they offered a kids menu. We ordered from the menu for ourselves and our toddler. When I took our infant to the washroom to change his diaper, there was not a change table anywhere to be found in any of the stalls - had to wipe the counter clean and change him there. Not the most pleasant or comfortable experience for either one of us. Passed several employees to and from washroom with baby and diaper bag in tow; no one redirected me to a family washroom (if there even is one). Due to this difficulty, we opted to change our toddler in our vehicle. Would be nice for a family friendly restaurant (kids menu is present) to offer family friendly facilities. As for the food, my salad was under dressed, burger overcooked, and my husband's brisket platter was "underwhelming" in size compared to the price. Husband questioned server about some beers, was offered a sample of one, but our server never came back before the end of the meal (roughly 30 minutes later) to ask if he would like to...

The design of this place is rustic and incredibly charming. Our experience started with a warm welcome from the staff, who seated us at a great table. The quality of the food was truly top-notch, and the service from the staff was impeccable. I highly recommend giving this place a try!

Beertown continues to impress! A table was ready and waiting for my party of 12 and we had two servers throughout our stay. They were both cheerful, knowledgable, and patient 🙂. The menu is updated regularly, but some classics are forever (wonton nachos are an absolute must of you've never tried them, and their fried chicken and brisket options are excellent, and fish tacos!). Finally, and most importantly, the beer selection (and by extension, the entire drink menu) is unparalleled in London. Dozens of beers on tap and in bottles, a half dozen rotating Ontario craft beers, a creative "infusion" option where beers or ciders are combined with complimentary flavours, beer cocktails, standard cocktails, non-alcoholic options and the inimitable "Beermaggeddon Paddletron 3000" 40-beer super-sampler that MUST be seen to be believed (minimum 4 drinkers required to order). Stop reading and go! [Pictured: Carolina fried chicken sandwich with kale-blueberry salad]
