We go there weekly. We actually had our wedding photos taken in there! They take my allergies seriously and always go above and beyond. (This review was from when it was still Williams Street, 2 years ago.)
Since becoming Crow City, it's gone very downhill. When you go into order, there is no menu with prices. Today's "menu" is written on a chalkboard (again, no prices or ingredients or descriptions) When I walked up to the lady at the cash register, she was rude and told me she doesn't take the orders and jumped into a conversation with people standing in line waiting for their orders. It took the other staff a little bit to clue in she was not helping anyone, and the lineup got out the door, several people left.
I asked about prices since there's no menu or signage, it was met with "I don't know, and I don't know how to take items off once they're typed into the register". (I was refused a receipt as well).
We asked about what flavors for lattes and found the selection was less than a ¼ of what Williams Street had. Ended up getting one chocolate and one vanilla. She misunderstood and made a chocolate and vanilla latte and got annoyed at me when I explained the misunderstanding. She told us to go sit down and they'll bring it to us.
Wasn't a huge wait, but they don't add sugar or anything, so I had to take both drinks up to the area with sugar and milk beside the register to add it myself (not a huge deal). The sugar was almost empty, and the milk was warm, so we didn't use it.
When the food was brought out, I asked about the ingredients. The chicken Caesar was missing bacon, the chicken club had cheap deli ham instead of bacon, celery, apples, walnuts, and onions. She admitted they made it as a chicken salad, realized their mistake, and instead of making it right, they added the bacon and brought it out. It had celery in it, which I told them I was allergic to. They did not correct this and gave me papers to wrap it up "to go" since I couldn't eat it.
Bumps come along with new openings. Not caring about allergies, not fixing their mistakes, and generally not caring about food safety is why we won't be back. Huge letdown.
If you have allergies, food sensitivities, or a budget, I don't recommend coming here. 2 wraps and 2 lattes were $50. I don't expect to see them in business much longer if they keep these...
Read moreEveryone on staff is super nice, helpful and chatty! The building is lovely and feels really airy because of the windows and high ceilings. They don't have a full hot drinks menu up yet as they've only been open 3 weeks but the woman at the register was super helpful in telling us what there was to drink. Ordered a cherry latte as they have a range of syrups and it was a great coffee and not overly small like a lot of coffee shops. They also do takeaway. We stopped here on a weekend as they're one of the only places that opens early and it was nice and quiet. The brownies were a bit sweet and dry for our tastes but I would come again regardless for the drinks and...
Read moreThis is our second visit to this place and both experiences were terrible. The staff are not friendly and they seem to have little interest in helping customers or being friendly. We asked if they could make us a cortado, they have espresso and cream and cups, they refused. I supposed we could have asked for a really small latte, or cappuccino. If you're looking for a coffee shop with great baked goods, food, coffee, and really friendly staff try Sam's Perculator. That's our favorite in chatham. They also have...
