I ordered takeout from Dandy's Burger yesterday evening. This was my first time ordering from there. We ordered 2 burgers, fries, fish and chips, and a Caesar salad. I was quite disappointed with the poor customer service that we received as well as the overall cleanliness and food safety practices.
The cashier was young and not very friendly. You could tell she most certainly didn't want to be there. She took our order and processed our payment ($41 and some change). She then put the fish and fries into the fryer to cook. She then placed the 2 burger patties on the grill. I am not sure at what point she put on gloves, whether it was before or after processing our transaction, but at this point, I remembered she was wearing gloves.
I couldn't help but notice the amount of grease and oil dripping stains on the side of the grill, in plain view of the customer. It almost appeared as if they don't even wipe down or scrub the sides of the grill, or at least, not for a long time. I also noticed that there were several dirty rags underneath the fryer.
After she put food on the grill, she then proceeded to make our Caesar salad. She took out a dirty bowl from underneath the prep table (from what I assume/hope was a refrigerator). The bowl looked like it already had salads previously made in it that day. But I honestly had no way of knowing if the bowl was from that day, or from last week. Proper food safety handling practices would require you to use a NEW bowl and NEW utensils for each order. You'll certainly have a bunch of dishes, but that's what happens when you work in a kitchen environment!!
When she was making the salad, I informed her that the burgers were on fire. She stated that "its okay", "it's supposed to do that", and assured me that the food would not be overcooked. Fire on a grill happens from too much grease build up, so that definitely tells me they are not washing their grills enough, or very poorly for that to occur. It can also be a safety concern since a grease fire is more likely to occur. By the way, she put the dirty salad bowl, back underneath the prep table! So not sure when it will be cleaned.
She then proceeded to prepare our burgers and asked us what toppings we would like. She used the same pair of tongs to pick up tomatoes, lettuce, and RELISH, before putting the relish covered tongs, into a mixture of what looked like diced tomatoes, onions, and some kind of greens (cilantro?). Now, I don't have any allergies, so I wasn't overly concerned, but I just felt bad for people who do and could potentially get sick from cross contamination.
She then wrapped up our burgers, took off her gloves and began to package up our order. She walked over to the fryer, took out the fish and packaged it up as well. She took the fries out of the fryer, and dumped them into a section where they add the salt. I cannot remember if she shook salt from a spice jar, or used her hands. I do however remember her, scooping our fries into the take out container with a scoop. However, the amount of fries was too much for the small container they were being put in, so she proceeded to USE HER BARE HANDS, and shove our fries into the container. I was absolutely disgusted by that point.
Upon returning home with the food, the only thing I ate was the fish which was alright. I wasn't about to eat fries that were touched by someone's bare and dirty hands, or eat a salad that was made in a dirty bowl with dirty utensils. My boyfriend said his burgers were burnt, no surprise there.
Rather than be confrontational in person, I'm leaving a detailed review about my awful experience and will not be back! Buyer beware! What a...
Read moreYesterday was my first experience of everything Dandy's! Needless to say I was very excited because of the great reputation and good reviews. However my experience was anything but good.👎
I ordered online for my boyfriend and I while we were sitting in the parking lot, when it was time to head in I decided to go. Like I said, I had never been to the restaurant before, and as a total introvert I followed suit of the gentleman standing infront of me. I wasn't aware that he had already paid and was waiting on his food.
The first thing I noticed is there was a staff member in the back not wearing a mask. I understand that it's simply impossible for some people, but when you're working around food I think it should be mandatory. The second red flag was no one even acknowledged me. As I stood waiting for someone to help me for several minutes, a group of gentlemen came into the restaurant. They walked right up to the cash register, at this point I'd realized I was on the wrong side, and the cashier immediately walked over to serve them.
I was annoyed that the gentlemen received service before me, as I had already been waiting. I finally lock eyes with the cashier and let her know I had an order for pick up. After a few more minutes we were in the car on our way home.
Once we get home and open our order, we notice I am missing my entire meal. I called the restaurant and spoke with the cashier, after waiting on hold for almost 7 minutes she returns to tell me I am correct. She apologized and offered to remake the order for pick up. I explained how I live on the other side of the city, and if I were to leave now I wouldn't get to eat at all, as I was stealing my boyfriend's food. It was very clear she was annoyed with me, but I asked for delivery anyways.
About 25 minutes later the food arrived. I opened up my food only to discover it was the wrong order. At this point I was so disappointed I didn't bother calling to let them know they didn't get our order right, again.
With all of this being said, the food was still good! I enjoyed the meal I was provided, but my boyfriend... not so much. However my love for Dandy's declined with the passing minutes. For this reason we will not be returning to this restaurant based on their...
Read moreWe found hair in their Burger!!! A very disgustingly all jammed up man's hair in between the patty. Be careful about their food and their workers. I really wonder how they prepare their meat. On a sunday afternoon I and my family with my 16 months old baby went to this restaurant to have burgers just like the previous year we did and enjoyed their burger but this time my 60 years old mother in law got this hair stucked in between her teeth!!! She almost did not want us to know this but after I persued and asked what was wrong with her,!? finally she told me what was wrong!!!! We normally don't get all out of wack for a hair in our food and it happens when the manager is not there and the lack of management in the kitchen, which this place definitly is lacking management.. but what was worst,!!???? When I took the food and showed the hair to the lady staff they did not believe me!!!!!! The hair was now on a piece of napkin and obviously not on the Burger. It came from one us teeth... I asked them nicely to change it... We were having our food and the other 3 burgers were fine and they told me it was a lie!!!!! Finally going back to my table and telling them it as not a good customer service which they are providing the staff " lady" told me not to wave my hand at her.. I guess i was waving my point figer and saying it was a bad customer service. Infront of all of us she said " Do not wave your finger or I will shove it up your Ass!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shove it up my Ass????? Then I had to show them a and teach them how how to respect their customers when some incident like that happens. I had paid $42 dollars for my food and All I wanted to replace the Burger that had only taken one bite!!! Even if she says I lied ,, do you think any one with a right mind would ever go to a restaurant and spends all that money would want just a free Burger????? I am 43 years old and I have never ever recieved such terrible and horrible customer service all my life...😞😞😞my whole day was ruined...and I feel sick from the meat too...one star rating is too...
