Food took over 1 hour to come They forgot to give us Coke and other drinks which we ordered . Tables were sticky and disgusting. The booth we sat at had stains all over the wall. Whenever I picked up my glass to drink water I could hear the stick ness of the stable cloth. The table was wobbly and I used my napkin to balance it on one of the legs because we weren’t able to eat properly Quantity of the food was so less, I have been to countless Indian restaurants and I’ve never seen anyone charge this high plus for such small portions. I will never come back here. After spending $90 for that experience I still tipped the waiter a 20% tip because he came when we called him.

This is a very comfortable family style restaurant with amazing food. The restaurant itself is small with booths along two walls and tables arranged in the middle. The decor is simple with an Indian theme. There were not a lot of eat in patrons on the weeknight that we were there but was fairy busy with takeout and delivery orders leaving. This was perhaps the only negative as there were often customers or drivers waiting at empty tables for their orders. I found this slightly distracting as our booth was at the back near the picking up counter. The service was first rate however and the food was as good as any high-end restaurant. Highly recommended.

Soooooooo, so good. I have been spoiled with GOOD Indian food my whole life being half Indian and because of that, I’m often weary of trying Indian restaurants. I am so glad that my boyfriend and I got to try India House. Every dish we got (lamb vindaloo, butter chicken, chicken biryani, parathas, naan, drinks) were all wonderful. Spice levels were just right, temperature was hot, it was fresh, presented well, etc. Although we are not from London, we will be back for this restaurant!!!! And our server was just amazing, asked so many questions with genuine care, checked in the perfect amount of times and just needed to be well tipped!!!

I dined at India House and I have to say that the customer service, for lack of a better word, is appalling. The restaurant was extremely cold and everyone at my table was shivering. We had to bring in jackets and wear them inside ( And I am talking about July). When I let the waiters know about this I was told that they have switched off the A/C and that it would get better in 15 mins.

It was a blatant lie, to my face.

My whole table could continue to feel the cold air blowing all around us. And I could clearly see on the thermostat behind their counter that the room temperature was even lower than before.

We still waited for another 20 minutes and when we could not take it anymore, I approached them again and requested for a room heater if possible. At that, they really became confrontational and told me that they could not provide a heater and that they have to keep the temperature low because of " the food".

My question is why do these people lie to your face that they have switched off the A/C? I understand that temperature inside kitchens need to be lower. I do. But I am talking about the dining area. We felt like we were sitting in a freezer. I was 2 seconds away from walking out the door.

This restaurant better figure out how to have separate temperature controls for their kitchen and dining area.

Anyway, from that point, the waiters became extremely rude. Their attitude was like they were doing us a favour by serving us.

Now, the other interesting part. They kept forgetting everything we asked for. For example, the two elderly people at my table could not handle the cold that they needed warm water to drink. I asked the waiters , they said they would bring and then they did not return for half hour. They brought it only after I asked them again. They told me " they forgot". Later I asked for an extra straw for a mango lassi I ordered. Same response again, said they would bring, but again did not return for 15 minutes. I had to ask again to have them bring it.

The main course was good - the breads and curries . But the mango lassi was horrible. At that point I really wondered if they were doing their payback. When I told the waiter that the yoghurt tasted really old, they said that it was "made yesterday and it was because of a different mango pulp".

The pattern I recognized here was that the waiters have their defences up all the time. Instead of trying to understand why their customer is uncomfortable, they are focussed on shutting them down.

Our table was very close to their counter and I could clearly hear the waiters badmouthing us in Hindi

We just wanted to get out of that place by then.

Anyway, long story short, the waiters at this place will singlehandedly close down...

First off I want to say this restaurant has been a staple for many years for my family and I. Whether you eat inside, get take out or ordered through a delivery app, the quality would always be the same. It's one of the top Indian restaurants in London. Chef Pradeep is an amazing chef. Top of his cuisine. His staff are always great and are incredibly nice. I have never been disappointed in his food. It's one of my favourite restaurants ever.

But last night was absolutely disappointing. I was prepared for the wait. There would always be a wait since everything is cooked per order. I know Chef Pradeep opened up another restaurant in the north end so I don't know if he was there yesterday. I usually put in big orders but this time I only ordered only one dish via UberEats. I had to wait an hour and 35 mins. Yep you heard me, an hour and 35 mins for one dish. I ordered the Chicken Pasanda with some rice and a appetizer. The Chicken Pasanda that I received was the worst thing I ever tasted and I have ordered this before never been disappointed. The Chicken pieces were undercooked and were still raw inside. The Pasanda sauce was watery and had absolutely no flavour whatsoever. This wasn't Chef Pradeep's cooking, it certainly didn't taste like his. After eating at his restaurant many times you can pick up his taste in dishes. I was disappointed after waiting that long for one dish. I had to throw everything out. I managed to get refunded through UberEats due to this being a food safety issue. Someone can get sick from this.

I had to point this out because I don't want this restaurant to make the same mistake as many many others did in this city. Open up a new place or an expansion and watch the quality go absolutely downhill. Hopefully this was only a...

Awesomme food, one must try..!!

Went there 2 ago, There are few points i should mention being a great food lover..!! In my first sight, Ambience of Restaurant was not that waaooww appealing, however as I don't judge a book by its cover, so i went there to taste some north indian food. I have previously enjoyed some great food on road side 'Dhaba' in India, so I understand that great food can be anywhere, it is not a matter of how a restaurant look like..!! This one looks pretty good and don't have any complaint at all. I have been through a situation where i had terrible food in some of the best 5 Star Delux hotels in India, naming my worst, i.e The Pullman, Aerocity, New Delhi. So finally i went there with one of my friend and got a cornor table for 2. Staff was overall good, Lady who took my order, she was really polite and did her job well. I placed my order and then got busy in conversation with my friend. The annoying thing started when it was almost 35 mints but order was not anywhere. I was feeling bad about the service, but lady convinced me about shortage in staff and heavy rush that day. Minutes passed on and finaly after long 55 minutes after i placed my order, it was there on table. With the very first spoon to check, it washed away all the frustration in my mind. Food was really delicious. Well cooked and original taste what we used to enjoy in India. I have visited several parts of India, and almost all big and famous restaurants in North India. I felt like the taste is really well, and i finally enjoyed my meal.

Overall: Ambience of restaurant was normal. Food was great. Staff is polite and nice. Service was very slow, however can overlook after enjoying the food. 😋

Will definitely visit again, may be this time i get it...
