Went to Mi Casita - ordered burrito and Birria. Food was ok, nothing to write home about but good nonetheless.
We ordered a pitcher of beer. Upon pouring the second half of the pitcher we noticed several red spots INSIDE the pitcher that looked like blood. We thought maybe one of us was bleeding which we weren’t. When wiping with a napkin, the “suspected blood” it began coming off. Disgusted, we did not drink anymore and told the waitress named Avery. She tried claiming it was grenadine but insisting the glass was clean as it went through a dishwasher. Clearly the pitcher isn’t clean if there is ANYTHING on it after a wash.
She then stated “what do you want me to do about it? This isn’t my jurisdiction” we stated that the container wasn’t clean and weren’t comfortable drinking from it. She then left to call her boss. When she returned she stated she wouldn’t charge us for the pitcher we didn’t drink. We were also never offered another pitcher or an alternative or any comp for the meal.
The waitress then proceeded to try and defend the pitcher stating it wasn’t a big deal and that we have nothing to worry about. I then asked her to put herself in my shoes and try and understand but that fell on deaf ears. There was no apology, no empathy, no understanding from Avery. She just kept asking what we wanted her to do about it. She wasn’t rude but should revamp her table side manner or reconsider hospitality as a job.
Don’t feel as though Mi Casita did much to address the cleanliness of their stuff, solve the situation or to try and not lose a customer as she put the accountability of the situation back on us rather than the business in which she works.
It should be noted, nobody checked on us the entire meal to ensure the food was accurate or ok.
Unfortunately will not be returning. Would love to speak with the owner but judging by the other 1 star comments, his input and presence is a rarity. Not sure this business has what it takes to retain customers or make it right in such a...
Read moreWas impressed by the restaurant's inside and outside dining areas. Got our drinks before ordering our food and were told that the special on margaritas was 1 per customer to my surprise but okay. Got chips and excellent salsa. Our meals were delicious, only thing was the sour cream was more on the liquid side and no thickness to it. Later on found out through social media that margaritas are unlimited while we chose to stick to one since we were told that the special was limited to one per customer. Also found out that the chips are supposed to be warm while ours were cold. We didn't say anything because we thought that it was how they were served. So I brought it up twice on the social media's restaurant site (I take it the owner was replying) where I was simply answered that margaritas are unlimited even after I told them that we were told otherwise at the restaurant. I noticed a few minutes afterwards that my comment got deleted by MiCasita and I got blocked! It's not at all like I was trying to get free food or drinks!!! All I was looking for is some sort of apology that one of the servers screwed up. Even if I was offered free food/drinks or a discount I would've declined it. Mistakes happen and the server might've been new. I got blocked and that's it while we were going to go back because the food was delicious Really bummed out by the way the person in charge of the social media site handled it. I guess we're still going to MexicanTown...
Read moreVisited from out of town, we were limited in any food or drink customization. Margaritas - They do not provide pitchers for their margaritas, which we've experienced at other Mexican restaurants, but the new one for us was that we were unable to mix 2 flavors of margaritas, and also if you want a strawberry margarita it only comes frozen. The margaritas themselves tasted flavorless and watered down, by the end of my strawberry margarita I has a little pile of bland ice slush left behind. Food - salsa was good, but chips were very hard and uncomfortable to eat with. We split a burrito, shrimp taco, and beef taco. Beef taco was probably the best thing we ate, meat was very tender. Shrimp taco was okay. For the burrito, you can only choose one protein, we were unable to get both chicken and grilled veggies inside the burrito when requested. Burrito itself was mostly rice and beans with chicken.... with a side of rice and beans, so was disappointed in the lackluster filling of the burrito. Another odd aspect - there's no option for customers to go through the restaurant to get to the patio. We sat on the patio and had to walk back to the front door of the restaurant to go inside and use...
