On our journey back from Detroit, USA, my family and I decided to stop at Maison Istanbul, a decision that quickly turned into one of the highlights of our trip. We were greeted with genuine warmth and hospitality from the moment we entered the restaurant, making us feel instantly at home. The interior décor beautifully reflected authentic Turkish culture, with intricate patterns, vibrant colours, and soft lighting that created an inviting and cozy atmosphere.
Our server, Sanaz, truly elevated our experience with her exceptional service. She was courteous and remarkably attentive, ensuring that every aspect of our dining was perfect. Her friendly demeanour and extensive menu knowledge shone through as she offered recommendations and checked in on us throughout our meal. It was evident that she genuinely cared about our experience, adding a personal touch that made us feel valued.
For our meal, we chose the Platter for Four (Option 8), a selection that promised a variety of tastes. We were taken aback by its generous portions and vibrant presentation when it arrived. The kebabs were nothing short of spectacular—cooked to perfection, they were incredibly tender and bursting with flavour. Each skewer showcased a delightful blend of authentic Turkish spices, creating an explosion of taste that had us savouring every bite. The platter also featured a medley of accompaniments, including warm, fluffy pita, fresh salads, and zesty dips, ensuring an option to cater to everyone's palate.
As a delightful ending to our meal, we were treated to complimentary Turkish tea. This soothing, aromatic beverage was the perfect finishing touch to our hearty dining experience. The tea's warmth contrasted beautifully with the lively flavours we had just enjoyed, allowing us to unwind and reflect on our meal.
To our surprise and pleasure, Sanaz brought a dessert on the house—a thoughtful gesture showcasing the restaurant's commitment to customer satisfaction. The dessert was exquisite, featuring rich flavours and a perfect balance of sweetness that left us craving more.
Overall, our time at Maison Istanbul was nothing short of extraordinary. Combining authentic Turkish cuisine, warm hospitality, and a welcoming atmosphere ensured an unforgettable experience. I wholeheartedly recommend Maison Istanbul to anyone searching for delicious Turkish food and outstanding service. This remarkable place isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a venue you’ll remember fondly and eagerly look forward to...
Read moreEXCELLENT food and very reasonable prices with a very family oriented atmosphere but it is evident why the delivery ratings are higher than the "eat-in" ratings.
Customer service quality is strongly lacking. Being told to choose our food almost immediately when seated and the waitress stated "it takes a while, so we can get you out faster if you order now" was poor communication - don't make your patrons feel like they're an inconvenience. It was a busy night, but rapport between patron and staff is part of the experience when you dine anywhere. Secondly a pitcher of water and some glasses when you sit down is generally a standard, we didn't get a drink until explicitly asking an hour into our visit because we kept expecting it was on the way! Finally, as many patrons do, we intended to do a round of tea at the end of dinner and the waitress took the order, walked away, and 5-10 minutes later returned and advised us there was no tea and that it would be a wait. We were there hours from closing so it escapes me how tea could not be prepared in the time we waited between the order the waitresses return. This seemed to be maybe a disconnect with the kitchen.
Overall the visit left something to be desired. As stated the food was excellent but there is room for improvement with the customer service experience. Sorting out these kinks would significantly improve the patron perception of the otherwise...
Read moreI finally got the chance to try Maison Istanbul restaurant in Windsor and here is my review for this restaurant. The table was sticky and the air condition was not working properly. The temperature inside must have been 80 degrees. We were a group of 4 and the waitress brought 3 room temperature water glasses. My 8 years old daughter said the water tasted funny. It took the waiterss another reminder to bring the fourth glass. This one had ice though. We ordered 2 Lamachun, a mixed grill with 4 skewers, Adana Kepap plate with 2 skewers and 2 kunafa for later. The Lamachun were amazing and I would give it 9 out of 10. I ordered another Lamachun and cheese and sujuk pide after we tasted the Lamachun. Thin dough that is cooked to perfection with yummy meat mix. The mixed grill presentation was great and the meat was cooked to perfection but it tasted OK. I was not very impressed with the meat seasoning. It tasted bland and no flavours were screaming out at me. The cheese pide was amazing and it tasted really good. They forgot to make the Adana kepap plate which we ended up cancelling. The salad, and bulgur were tasty and delicious. The rice was not that great. The kunafa was bland, and it did not taste like kunafa. Overall. They need to improve on cleaning and customer service. I would likely go back to order Lamachun for take-out, but I would not dine in...
