We were unfortunately targeted and harassed by the front desk manager Graeme. Graeme consistently searched for us and tried multiple times to accuse us of drinking alcoholic beverages in the conference room, which we rented each night. Friday evening he walked in our conference room and yelled at all the adults and told us that we were in violation and that he was going to kick us out. We said why? And he pointed to a beer cannon the table. We apologized as the person that left it there just hadn’t made it up to their room yet, from bringing their things in from the parking garage. He said he didn’t care and if he sees alcohol again then we are Beijing locked out. On Saturday night, Graeme walked into the conference room where 4 dads were sitting and drinking water. Ruffled through our belongings and found a bottle of wine in one of the bags that a mom left in the room by mistake. He then proceeded at that time to kick the 4 dads out to the room and locked the 4 gentlemen and the whole team out- that were sitting in the conference room when they were drinking water. Our team had a curfew of 9pm that night so no one was around. He originally came down to tell us that we were being noisy- which wasn’t the case because we were all putting our kids to bed. However there was a live band playing in Finn Mcools at the same time.... which was a lot louder than the 4 dads.
We were extremely disappointed with how Graeme would come down to our conference room every 5 minutes both evenings to yell at us and tell us that the kids were rough housing- when they weren’t as they were just eating supper at the tables.
Graeme caused many problems for our team, stress and unnecessary anger. When we asked for the name of the higher management he refused to give it to us, and told us that he is going to kick us out. When we asked security to help us in this matter, Graeme proceeded to tell us that security answers to him and to no one else- as the security guard was standing there watching us.
We asked how does he think he could kick out 9 year old kids on the street - for not doing anything, and he responded with ‘I am not, I’m kicking out the adults.’
I have never in my life been treated with such disrespect and disgust.
I have never in my life, in all the years of running events seen a situation like this. Our kids were being amazing. I have never been more proud at how respectful...
Read moreI had a terrible experience at the Four Points by Sheraton in Windsor, Ontario. It was one of the lowest-quality Marriott hotels I've stayed at and I regret not sticking with my usual choice of the Towneplace Suites down the road. When I arrived at the Four Points, I encountered several issues that made my stay very unpleasant. Firstly, I couldn't even get into the building and waited for a guest to let me in, which was very inconvenient and uncomfortable in the cold weather. After a period of realizing that isn’t going to happen, there were no stairs, so I had to walk down a slippery, one-way ramp to the lobby. Frankly, it was dangerous to do in the icy conditions! The employee at the front desk, Sharon, was rude and didn't seem to care about my status or loyalty to Marriott. While I don't expect to be treated like royalty, I do expect basic human decency, which I did not receive. My room was adequate, but there was no mini fridge and it was very loud due to traffic and city noises. Earplugs were provided, which tells you how loud it was. I also purchased a soda from the hotel cafe, but it had expired three months ago. When I tried to use the pool at 9 PM, the door was locked, even though the hours said it was open until 11 PM. I didn't want to disturb Sharon, who was invested in a captivating book, by asking her to unlock the pool, so I didn't use it. There was also no free breakfast, unlike at the Towneplace Suites. To make matters worse, I was woken up by a Marriott staff member in a suit knocking on my door and asking what time I was checking out, even though checkout time is noon and I had a "do not disturb" sign on my door. I was treated poorly, couldn't use the amenities, had to pay for parking that I couldn't access, and was woken up from my sleep. The worst part, however, was the poor treatment by the employees. I did nothing wrong and was treated like a nuisance. I would never stay at this property again and believe that decency should be the minimum standard, especially at a Marriott hotel, but they failed to meet even...
Read moreI arrived at about 2am and was checked in swiftly. I expected the room to be quite noisy due to the hotels location which is downtown Windsor but it was fine all through my 3 nights stay. I suppose this was because I got one of the rear facing rooms. The room was clean, clean towels and beddings and the cleaners were very quick to clean the room each time we went out for the day. One thing though, one of the workers opened up the room for cleaning while I was asleep and I had the "do not disturb" sign up. She apologized when she found out we were in there. They had a coffee machine and provided 4 pods daily which was a good add on for me as a coffee lover..obviously there was tea as well. There was an iron and board in the room as well as a safe. Shampoo, conditioner, bath gel, body lotion and hand wash all provided. My room did not come with breakfast, however I went down to pay for breakfast on the first morning but it wasn't at all great with regards to variety. It was 15.99 but then we also got charged separately for tea and coffee Honestly that wasn't a problem.. it was the lack of variety for me. I have to add though that the waitress was fantastic with her service. To sum it all up, I loved the location, as I had the options of various restaurants around. I think for me that's a plus. Obviously that also comes with the problem of noise when you are downtown but I'll rather be here than a location where I won't have the options of various restaurants. There's also a bus terminal not far off.
So to the main question, would I come back. YES...
Lastly I forget my ring in the room when I checked out. A few minutes later I could hear shouts behind me. I had given the guy at the reception a lot of work running. Thanks to him. I got...
