I had a chance to visit pure and simple on Wellington in London Ontario today and The food was very good. I know that potatoes are a big thing up here in Canada. Whether it's in poutine or the meal is served over cubed and seasoned potatoes. They were very good here at Pur and Simple but I'm just not a huge fan potato as one of the main ingredients in any dish.
I got the Ray's Extravaganza Skillet. This dish has a very nice variety of meats and is served over the chopped and seasoned potatoes. Everything was very good, very flavorful and the Hollandaise sauce was not overpowering which was a huge plus. I ordered two eggs on top cooked over easy and they were perfect. My only disappointment with the dish was that it seemed to be light on the meat and toppings. I feel like this dish could have really been amazing with half the potatoes and more toppings. Again, the flavor was good. The meats were good. The vegetables were good. I just would have preferred different ratios between the potatoes and the toppings.
My companion ordered the veggie omelette with spinach and mushrooms. This dish was very good (from the bites I was able to sneak ) especially with a side of fruit instead of the potatoes. This was a good choice. I think the potatoes that the omelet came with would have been too much.
A note on the fruit bowl or the side of fruit that we substituted instead of the potatoes. All of the fruit was amazing. The strawberries were very fresh and flavorful, the banana was perfect in ripeness and flavor, the pineapple was amazing. The fruit bowl and the freshness of the fruit was a highlight of the breakfast.
Service was great. The servers were very attentive and my coffee was always full. I would highly recommend Pur and Simple in any of their locations around London. I haven't been to the other two but I have very high recommendations regarding the north location on...
Read moreWe recently dined at Pure and Simple, and overall, our experience was quite good. The restaurant had a cozy atmosphere and the food was absolutely delicious. However, there were a couple of aspects that could use some improvement.
Our visit began with a bit of a wait as the restaurant was crowded, and it took us around 20 minutes to be seated. This delay was a bit frustrating. It would be helpful if Pure and Simple could work on streamlining their seating process to accommodate their guests more efficiently.
Once we were seated, our anticipation grew as we eagerly awaited our meals. The menu offered a variety of options, and the food did not disappoint. The flavors were fresh, vibrant, and perfectly executed, leaving us thoroughly satisfied. It was evident that the ingredients used were of high quality, and the presentation was visually appealing.
Despite the excellent taste of the food, we did experience some delays in its serving. Our dishes arrived a bit later than expected, making us wait longer than desired. While we understand that cooking times can vary, it would be beneficial for Pure and Simple to work on reducing the waiting period between ordering and receiving the food.
Despite the wait times, the staff at Pure and Simple was friendly and attentive. They made an effort to make us feel comfortable and responded promptly to our requests. Their positive attitude and helpfulness added to the overall pleasant dining experience.
In conclusion, Pure and Simple is a restaurant that serves delicious food and boasts a cozy atmosphere. The only areas that could use improvement are the wait times to be seated and the serving times of the food. With these aspects addressed, the restaurant would be even more enjoyable and receive a full five-star rating. Despite the minor inconveniences, I would still recommend Pure and Simple to others seeking tasty,...
Read moreMy first time going and honestly I’m never coming back. I don’t usually leave reviews and I even less like leaving negative ones. I woke up in a good mood this morning and my sister suggested we go out to eat for the first time in a while since things have been tough on us lately. We wanted to try this place for a while and I went in with good spirits. I ordered the Chicago Benedict without the added potatoes. The waitress- whom I won’t name told me that I won’t get a price deduction and that I can get a side of berries. I kind of figured they wouldn’t reduce the price so I substituted the potatoes for the berries. Honestly I didn’t even want them, I just figured I’d get them and give them to someone else. Then the receipt came and I saw that I was charged 5 extra dollars for a small bowl of berries that weren’t even sweet. When I pointed out that I thought it was supposed to be a substitution for the potatoes the waitress told me I was mistaken and claimed that she specified it would be an up charge. I don’t remember her saying it. I wouldn’t have gotten them had I heard her say that. My bill came to 30 dollars when all I had was a mediocre little eggs Benedict, coffee and small bowl of berries. I need to go on a walk and reconnect with nature because they were so silly for that. At that point I understand she doesn’t make the rules but she could have asked to waive the charge. Or maybe not. but I didn’t have the potatoes you guys could have substituted them. But that’s money and greed for you. She was super sweet but that ending was crazy. The food was overpriced, and mediocre. I’m disappointed and sadly won’t be going back. It’s not just over 5 dollars. It’s the morality, principle and mediocrity that prompted me in...
