I placed an order for pickup tonight that has left me absolutely disappointed. I normally get the veggie pasta with just the tomato sauce and gluten-free noodles. I placed the order from the car and I was literally 5 minutes away and forgot to ask for "no cheese" and when I got to the restaurant I proceeded to let one of the waitresses know that I would like it to be made without cheese (since Im vegan). She went to the back and told me she would let the cook know and cam back out and actually blurted the sentence 'no cheese!!". So I waited in the restaurant from 6 PM to 6:35 when I finally got my order, she didnt have the soup with it and finally got it when she went back again. In any case, no big deal...I get home after 30 minutes since I live in Forest Glade only to find out the entire entree is smothered with cheese. I called the restaurant and the manager or the owner or whoever it was kept telling me I "Im just trying to help you out" , first he tried to convince me that the sauce was already made when I asked for no cheese, but somehow it still took 35 minutes to cook the noodles, I've cooked those noodles before, 15 minutes tops, and basically he blamed me for not ordering correctly even though I told the waitress and waited for the order. Have they told me then that they had already made it with cheese, I wouldnt have walked out with it let alone pay for it. Very disappointed with how they treat customers since I let him know that we're regulars, didnt even care. I actually think it was just mere incompetence and total disregard to customer service. Its a shame, since usually their food is pretty good (had to give it way and eat the salad only). Well they will never see a dime from me again and I would recommend opening all your boxes and completely check your order because once you leave, they're done with you.
I wasnt looking for a free meal, but a simple acknowledgement of your mistake would...

Our group was there yesterday night. The cheesy garlic bread came 15 minutes after everything else but the cheese had been forgotten. Then they remade it but with only three out of the four pieces (for $11!) actually having cheese.
They didn't have olives so our Greek salad was just a house salad with a sprinkle of cheese. But they didn't inform us of this before we ordered nor when it arrived. Is this not Server 101? We only knew because one of us had ordered it previously and noticed. Also didn't have lemons because we were told their fridge was broken.
Ordered anchovies on the side for the pizza but it came at the very end with the cheesy bread so some of us just had to eat it with cold pizza. Not sure how long it takes to put anchovies into a bowl but apparently longer than it takes to bake two pizzas and a panzerotti.
The soup was extremely salty and when we told our server, she looked at us and walked away. What an exciting cliff-hanger.
We paid full price for everything and nothing was done to our bill to rectify the situation. The food was too mediocre to make up for the poor service. Gratuity was automatically added to our group so the servers were rewarded for their ineptitude.
But the best part was that nowhere on the bill did they mention the added gratuity, they only scratched out the previous total and handwrote a new number. Usually, restaurants have a line in the bill that notes the automatic gratuity. Not here. Nor was this mentioned while paying and we only found out because we asked. If people are not careful, it's extremely easy to double tip. Which I'm sure is what they're hoping for. After the service we received, this was far...

Sam's is one of my favorite restaurants in Windsor. I'm sad they removed the Escargot from the menu recently, as the Chef knew what he was doing, and it was a really spot-on-dish. The portions of food are generous; the prices are reasonable. Specials on drinks make for a pretty good watering hole: you can get a pitcher of rum and coke, with a little more of 3oz of booze, for $10.
The food has, in my experience, been consistently good, if not amazing. While the overall selection is good, they know what they're doing with what is on the menu. The staff is incredibly friendly, can carry a conversation, without being intrusive, or overbearing, and irritatingly attentive like some other places I've been.
The interior of the place is gorgeous; with very rustic presentation; wood walls and a dais with more dining seats; copper, or brass pipe-railings. The exterior isn't much to look at, but indoors it's gorgeous.
My only complaint is that, while the venue is pretty small, there's always a group or two of incredibly noisy university students, who are practically screaming at one another despite sitting...
