Please let me preface by stating that my norm is reviewing businesses that are outstanding in every category because I believe they deserve the praise, they deserve even more business for consistently offering great service, products etc. and they deserve my time in sharing these wonderful experiences with others as we all know “word of mouth marketing” speaks loudly and benefits both customers and business owners.
I try to refrain from reviewing businesses with my negative opinions and comments because there are sooo many circumstances that can end badly for both parties that can easily get blown out of proportion and I truly believe that most of those instances deserve a 2nd opportunity for a better experience.
AND then, there are the ‘total end of the spectrum’ experiences that I hesitate to share but feel I should to help people make their wisest choices of whom they want to give their business to especially where food prep and service is involved and possible illness… THIS, is one of those scenarios.
KFC/Taco Bell, Hyde Park failed in every category… 1st time AND 2nd time within a two week period. — I’m not going to post all the photos I took of how disgustingly filthy the entire place was from dining area, floors, walls, dead flies on the window sills, filthy drink service area, NO ICE, dirty counter area, filthy bathrooms that I wouldn’t even allow my kids to use let alone touch anything in there. Posting only the business store front for reference and the food safe certificate that was issued less than one month prior which I question how this was even possible.
While there I witnessed one customer who had already waited over 15 minutes for their order and stated it was always like this. The staff were very unorganized and rude. I saw what looked like a manager fill in for a few minutes then leave the building with 2 staff trying to operate both sides of the restaurant, (KFC and Taco Bell orders) PLUS the takeout window, order taking, food prep and money handling. — I don’t believe I saw a glove change once during that time. I actually don’t even recall seeing gloves I was so discussed at the time. I don’t totally blame the staff for trying to keep it all together in so many areas but I do blame owners and management for this type of operation and risking the health of their customers.
I had already ordered… we were on a schedule to get to an appointment otherwise I would have asked for a refund. I took one bite and tossed mine and the girls were hungry but didn’t finish theirs either. THIS was my 2nd visit which I was giving them another opportunity for a better experience and turns out it was worse than our 1st visit. — $80 worth of food over two visits, no ice at the drink station, not being able to use the filthy washroom and being bitten by flies while trying to eat disgusting food is NOT OKAY!!!
PLEASE CLEAN-UP your restaurant KFC/Taco Bell and schedule a team of staff who can service your customers safely and well. It’s a super busy plaza and I honestly don’t understand how you keep getting repeat business to stay open under these circumstances. — I guess those using the DRIVE-THRU have no idea what’s taking...
Read moreWent to this location today, man took my order at the drive thru. I had to pull into the parking lot even though there was no one in line. I also got no receipt. When I got home my order was missing the nacho cheese fries I ordered, the 3 bean burritos were incorrect ingredients and the soda was medium, not large.
When I returned to the store the guy who served me at the drive thru said he was the store manager. He was INCREDIBLY rude and confrontational right off the bat. There was also a language barrier. When I tried to explain that a bean burrito should have: refried beans, red sauce, shredded cheese and onions, he went and pulled out a recipe book for their store to "prove me wrong" and kept insisting that what I wanted was a chili cheese burrito.
I told him that, I worked at TB as a kid, I've also been ordering bean burritos from this very location for over a decade and have always received what was stated on the TB website. I even showed him Taco Bell's website which corroborated what I said. What he had given me was a cheesy bean and rice burrito. He would not back down, would not budge, and kept rifling through the store recipe book, and wouldn't let me speak. It was hot in there, and I don't like confrontation so I asked if I could please have a refund and he told me absolutely not because my order "was not wrong." Never mind the fries and cheese they had forgotten.
He again said he is the store manager, and he refuses to refund. I asked if I could at least have my bean burritos replaced as he told me he wasn't going to replace my order which was now cold after driving home then back. So, he asked a girl to make the bean burritos and mockingly said "are you sure you want onion, you're not allergic to that too." (I don't know where allergies came into play?) Then he whispered something to the girl about me, and they laughed. I also told him that I had wanted a large soda. When I initially ordered, I had requested a Large Dr. Pepper, he said they were out of DP, and I could have pepsi, diet pepsi so I said I'd take THE regular pepsi, as in not the diet. So, he argued that when I said regular, I wanted to change the size of the soda I was ordering.
I had also requested hot sauce 2x (this store ALWAYS forgets my hot sauce) and I had thought they hadn't given me any, but it was just at the very bottom of the bag, squished by the other items, so I hadn't seen it.
Overall, very upsetting, I don't know why he had to raise his voice and be so confrontational, seems as though he was power tripping. Not a nice man, no respect for customers. Sad to see a business being...
Read moreI had countless problems at this location and the only reason I keep giving it a chance to disappoint me is there is no others near by.
I have had an employee at this location call me a liar and slam the window in my face when i went back after they forgot items (which they do almost every damn order. This incident was escalated to both canadian and us headquarters qnd yet still no contact from the manager despite 10 calls to the location that all went unanswered.
Adding on that the quality is bad and the customer service here is atrocious. If you look back there are dozens and dozens of negative reviews and now today within minutes of eachother there are multiple (im assuming fake) reviews especially cause a few of them are multiple from the same name. This is extremely misleading as they’re trying to pad their ratings rather than fixing the fact each order takes 10 minutes and the product they serve is disgraceful.
The other issue I encountered was that today i ordered off the menu a deluxe combo which displayed a gordita, a crispy chicken taco, fries, burrito, and cinnamon twist. Recieved a chalupa, soft chicken taco, fries and a burrito (not receiving the twists). Got home and extremely disappointed that i recieved something completely different than what i ordered. I would call but last time i tried to fix their mistake as mentioned before i got name called by employees and things slammed in my face.
Moving forward i would suggest everyone to AVOID...
