My friend and I choose this place after a 4 hour travel day with high hopes for delicious food but this place fell very short…
She ordered the cannelloni and when it arrived the ricotta/cheese on the inside was ice cold. It showed it was either heavily refrigerated or previously frozen. The cannelloni is identical to the one you buy “fresh” at your local grocery store.
Don’t confuse the food for the waiters service, he was great and agreed to fix the food. And by fix, I mean have the kitchen staff throw the entire plate into an oven (or nuke it in a microwave for 10min) and deliver it back to us to the point where my friend accidentally touched her hand against the side of the dish that was ungodly hot! So hot you’d think Satan hand crafted that dish in his own personal kitchen. So hot my friend stuck the side of her palm on top of her ice water to reduce the risk of a third degree burn.
We left disappointed and on an empty stomach because the cold food was enough to put off our appetite.
The bruschetta was a 8/10 though!
Not enough positive feedback to recommend going here. After almost 40$ per person and no discount on my friend’s meal, we won’t spend our money here again. All the best though! And a tip… just make your food fresh or don’t...
Read moreMade reservations at the Mill to celebrate our tenth anniversary. It was a sunny Saturday, early evening, and we were shown to a cozy corner by a window, and ended up having one of the best dinners, server, and atmosphere ever. The food (appetizers, seafood, pasta) was delicious, the house red matched our meal to perfection, surrounding chatter was subdued and pleasant, and our server (Lesia), was attentive, knew when we were ready for the next course/ refill, etc., friendly, but not intrusive, and always ready with a smile! Early on she asked where we were from, I said Ottawa and we were in Brockville to celebrate our ten years together. What a surprise when after our meal she arrived with a plate with the words ‘Happy 10th Anniversary’ surrounding a dessert of sticky toffee pudding- a favourite of ours (Anne’s an expat Brit), on the house! We lost track of time and suddenly noticed that we were the only customers there, and staff were cleaning up, yet no one tried to hurry us out, and that only added to our overall great experience, evening, and anniversary. Many, many thanks to the Mill, and Lesia, for making us feel so welcome. We will be back!!...
Read moreWe celebrated our anniversary at The Mill Restaurant in Brockville, and it could not have been a more perfect evening. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt welcoming and elegant without being stuffy.
Our waiter was outstanding — attentive, friendly, and genuinely made us feel special on such an important night. The service struck that rare balance of professionalism and warmth that elevates the whole dining experience.
The food was absolutely incredible. My Linguini Pescatore was a standout — perfectly cooked pasta, generous portions of fresh seafood, and a sauce that was rich and full of flavor. Every bite felt like it was made with care. My partner’s meal was equally impressive, beautifully plated and just as delicious.
It’s clear that The Mill takes pride in both their kitchen and their service team. We left not only full and happy, but with the sense that our celebration was truly valued.
We can’t recommend The Mill enough — whether it’s for a special occasion or simply a memorable night out, this restaurant delivers on every level. We’ll...
