Ullrich's — Restaurant in Ontario

Ulrich’s was contracted by Murphy Funeral home and Chapel to cater my Mom’s celebration of life yesterday and No showed.

They just plain forgot about us and were unreachable to resolve it for more than an hour. When they were finally reached, they offered to bring the food so our guests could “Take something home”? From a funeral home.

I get it, as a catering company you are under a lot if scrutiny by a lot of people, but this isn’t one unsatisfactory meal amongst hundreds at an event.

The staff at Murphys saved the day with assorted trays from Metro, but that certainly wasn’t what we had in mind for those who came out to pay their respects to my late mother.

I was incredibly embarrassed, my sisters were too. We’ve seen amazing reviews and heard such great things about Ulrich's. This complete lack of professionalism left me stunned. And Murphys has told me they will not be contracting with Ulrich’s going forward.

Follow Up: Ulrich’s took full responsibility, made no excuses and did not ask for this review to be edited or taken down. They refunded all monies and provided my family with a free catered event. I have changed my star rating on my own accord based on Ulrich’s integrity...

Normally I love going to Ullrichs, the food is always delicious and typically wonderful customer service. Was quite disappointed in my experience today however; I waited in line to get some deli salads for roughly twenty minutes and by the time I was served I was accused of skipping the line. I made sure everyone ahead of me was served before asking for anything. I understand it was busy and I probably went unnoticed for the time I spent waiting, but I've been to Ullrichs numerous times and I am aware how the line through the store works, and had no intention of cutting in front of anybody. Did not appreciate the rudeness and eye rolls I received from the employee serving me, and was further disappointed when I tried to apologize for the confusion to another employee and was once again accused of skipping the line. I ended up leaving with a lot less than I intended to buy and feeling very unwelcome. Two stars just for the high quality food, but I'm a little hesitant to return to Ullrichs in the future and potentially be met with...

We had a celebration of life for my mother in law. The funeral home (Murphy funeral home. Absolutely amazing job and I highly recommend) made the arrangements for Ulrichs to cater the event. Everything was arranged and paid for however on the day of they did not show up and did not respond to any phone calls. To be fair when the finally called back they said they forgot about the event but could bring the food for people to take home with them. Completely unacceptable. Thankfully Murphy was on the ball. They ran out to metro and picked up various items to help feed the crowd.

Update: after this happened the owner reached out to us and let us know that the food was prepared for the event the issue was with the delivery. The food was donated to the hospital. They also catered our Christmas dinner for our family and showed up no issues with some delicious food. We were all impressed with the...
