Today (Oct 22/2018) we were out doing some shopping and I had become very curious about the veggie burger being advertised on TV by A&W, so we decided to drop into one of their locations on our way home.  Why this particular burger?  Well a friend of ours who has become a vegetarian told me about the Beyond Meat brand. as it happens, this is a product that I was not able to readily find in Canada at the time, except for at A&W. Now I know we're talking fast food here, so my expectations were not high to begin with, but I certainly was hoping for a better experience than what we had.  What ruined it for me personally was twofold: First they over-salted my onion rings, and those same onion rings were coated with a semi-soggy crust that seemed to be cornmeal based--yuck!  They were so bad and salty that I could not eat them--very sad, because years ago one of the things I loved best at A & W (aside from their frosty Root Beer), was their crispy onion rings. Mind you, I want to focus on the "Beyond Meat Burger" as that was the real reason we were there to eat, and in that regard I can say that I was pleasantly surprised because the taste and texture of the patty was much like any fast food burger I've ever eaten; with the same taste and chew reminiscent of a beef burger.  I would not hesitate to order it again, except I would ask them to hold the pickle, (and maybe the cheese too), due to their high salt content that detracted from the flavours of the fresh lettuce and tomato as well as the patty itself. The fries were dry and mealy; typical of frozen french fries.  Plus they were pre-salted as well, and admittedly we did not ask them to hold the salt on either the fries or the onion rings because we did not remember to do so.  That being said, I feel it's high time that all fast-food restaurants ask their customers if they would like them to be salted or not.  For my money, onion rings do not require any salting. In this age of so-called "more health-conscious" consumers, you would think they'd get it by now! That, and the fact that those of us with working taste buds don't welcome abusing them. On the upside, I was pleased to see that they did not use shredded lettuce as a lettuce leaf tends to be crisper and to stay put better within your burger.  Plus, the chilled drink mugs are a nice touch although way too large for average consumers like us--big eaters would likely disagree, but a 1/2 size mug would suit us better. From a diner's perspective the music pumped through the restaurant was way too loud and poorly selected.  Despite a polite request from a customer that entered after us, to turn the music level down, the onslaught of disturbing noise continued at the same annoying volume level through the speakers. Pricing: $24.59 (taxes in) for our two burgers, one order each of fries and onion rings, and two drinks.  Value on a scale of 1 to 5, I rate this 2.5 Ambiance: Poor, noisy, and decor in need of a facelift Service: Friendly, quick and efficient.

This is based on my most recent visit, July 7th, to A&W which is also my first in roughly 8 years. Overall I was pretty impressed with my Teen burger combo that I ordered with a side of onion rings and a fountain pop. I can truly appreciate the frosted A&W mug they give you when you dine in. Must better than a paper cup and no waste. I was pleased that they had diet A&W root beer as a dispensary option. It tasted so close to the full sugar root beer and I enjoyed it. The onion rings were absolute dynamite! In the picture I have provided you can see they are well seasoned and whatever that seasoning is is delicious. I may have had to pay extra to exchange fries for onion rings but it was worth it. The Teen burger was good. Not exceptional. The burger patty was tasty enough but I found the bun to be a little on the boring side. Maybe a brioche bun would make for a more enjoying burger experience. If I were to have a Teen burger again I would ask for no ketchup. It was far too sweet.

Clean and fast service the food is okay it's very consistent with the brand I prefer the breakfast over the lunch but some of the lunch items do shine especially the ones that go in and out of season like the fish when they do the crispy fish sandwiches those are one of my favorite ones to go to a&w for this place is good on service it's very fast so I would recommend it if you're slow on time or if you only got limited lunch time definitely recommend this place for younger crowds as the food is more burgers and fries not as sophisticated if you're looking for a date this is not the place

My Granny was longing for a BLT chicken sandwich fully loaded, I ordered the sandwich online, the order changed to churcher... It came with missing the apple pie she likes ( the bag sealed off). Furthermore, The sandwich came naked, with no bacon, no lettuce, no tomato, and no mayo. Moreover, the chicken was so dry, that she couldn't bite it. In her words, "it was horrible, and dry, like it wanted to take out the few teeth I have left." Her words not minds. After, she went through all that, she got one the family to bring home the BLT chicken sandwich she enjoy that is so soft and easier to bite. But through the unfortunate incompetent staff, she got a dry chicken patty that was fully loaded with toppings along dry out bacon, she was so disappointed from the memories of the first order she just couldn't finish it. "I just feel like to vomit" she cried out. Lastly, as I write this review I feel really sad, because she doesn't really have appetite for most foods now, I usually use the BLT chicken sandwich to ensure she eats and take her pills... Please take you all time and work as a team or I swear I will come be all supervisor just to save this location. A&W is a brand, even if it's run by different ways you may be us too... You should close this location for 1 Week and train the staff before it's too late... I know English may not be some of the staff first language, but show that you are willing to take time to understand what is customer service from different aspects dealing with a customer, from the beginning of taking the order , to presenting the finish product. It's not easy but please...

Sunday night, I brought my family through the drive through. My wife and I ordered our food twice at the speaker because whoever was taking the order wasn’t aware of the promotion sign for double cheese and double bacon burgers. I figured okay that’s fine. They’ll get it right when I go to the window. I got to the window, my wife and I verified our order with them. We ordered a mama burger w double bacon and double cheese combo w. Onion rings & root beer, a double bacon cheeseburger papa w sweet potato fries and a kids cheeseburger combo w apple juice. Not an overly difficult order. When we got to window we checked the receipt and they charged us for 3 fries??? + the fries on my kids meal. I pointed out the mistake on the bill asked to fix. They then asked me what the problem was and asked for 1 of the fries back. They refused to refund my money for their mistake at first. I requested that they ring my order through agsain, and compensate me for their error. Then the Indian woman manager cashier tells me, well we gave you extra fries. So we say no, you refund the order. Well give you bacK all the food, you give me back my $$$ and we’ll start again. Finally they give me the money back for their error 3.00 something $$ + tax. This is a bad experience. They need more training at this store as to what products and meals they serve and customer service. Their lack of customer service to make things right, had the drive through backed out to the road with their incompetence. Ive been a good customer if a&was, but I wouldn’t go back to this location again. Once again they’re really badly...
