When I say this past experience was an utter disappointment, that's an understatement. We've been ordering here for years and always ask for the spicy beef noodle to be not too spicy and have never had a problem. This time, it was way too spicy for us to even muscle through. I called and the receptionist (very sweet girl) apologized and said that they recently changed their sauce because most of there clients didn't think it was spicy enough. I asked if it was possible for them to remake it and she went to ask. I could hear him yelling at her through the phone that I ordered it and I didn't say not spicy. So obviously she came back saying that he won't remake it and just next time ask for no spice. When I asked what I'm suppose to do with the entire thing of noodles I can't eat, she apologized and said it was out of her hands, he said no. So I asked to speak with him. He got on the phone and repeated the same things back to me and asked how is he suppose to know how spicy people want it. I had put a note not too spicy but he insists I should have said no spice at all and that it's not his problem. I explained we've been coming for years and this is the first time we've had a problem and since they changed the sauce how was I suppose to know it would be spicier then usual. Not sure how yelling at a customer solves anything, it's unfortunate because the food is delicious but we won't be ordering again just based on his atrocious behavior. I really hope the receptionist finds a new job, she doesn't deserve...

I decided to treat myself to the Chinese food I was craving, and ordered from Hong Kong House while I shoveled snow. It arrived just as I finished shoveling, and I ate it right away.

I ordered from this place to try it out, and because it was the cheapest. One of the apps offered a good deal, so I went with it. Now, I kind of wish I had gone with something different.

Overall, the food was fine. It’s paint by numbers Chinese food, and nothing stood out.

I ordered the dinner for two, but chose the variation that didn’t have spareribs because I don’t know why anyone would want those. The only other option was a vegetable dish. Well, that was unfortunately mostly giant chunks of broccoli and a few other vegetables like a couple small pieces of carrot, a couple slices of onion and a few pieces of bok choy.

This is something I’ve noticed with A1 Delights. That is, restaurants filling takeout containers with massive chunks of broccoli because it’s cheap. I don’t know about you, but I don’t think of a whole tree of broccoli when I think of Chinese food. I ate a bunch of it, but didn’t love it. I could’ve made that at home for $2.

The rice was plentiful, but had little taste. The chicken balls were big, but a bit tough and underwhelming. Lastly, the egg roll was fine. It didn’t stand out.

I didn’t have a way to pick up from Golden Pine, and was too cheap to order from Family Wok. The reviews were good for this place, but I’ve...

First, let me say it's the first and last time I will order from Hong Kong restaurant! I literally placed an order and picked up the food about an hour ago. The restuarant was completely empty!!! I ordered chicken fried rice and bbq pork fried rice, and two chicken lowmein. The chicken lowmein is not what I'm use to buying elsewhere, this was thin white egg noodle mixed up with broccoli, pieces of white chicken, onions and celery. It had no color! Didnt taste bad, was edible. The rice however, as soon as I uncovered the fried rice it smelled like the rice had gone bad. When I tried it tasted exactly the way it smelt. It was not freshly cooked. It's not even day old from the smell, its probably two day old rice. My order was $41. I called and told the owner about the rice. His response was ....oh, shouldn't be, we make lots of this rice today" . I replied saying ...Sir, with all due respect, this rice is not fresh or even a day old. He replies...ok, I give u credit next time u come, ok? My response was, I'll never order food from you again. It's so hard to find good Chinese food. I normally go to Rice to Go but they're closed till the 27th of January. Which is how I ended up at hong kong restaurant. Unacceptable standard in food. Now I know y it was devoid of a single customer. Beware...

The food was straight 🗑️ I have never seen such a lack of love for food. I ordered one of the combos and wanted to sub the rice for noodles and that came at a 3$ charge which I had no problem paying, then it arrives to the table and my plate has a big lump of plain noodles with no veg or anything, it literally was like they boiled 2 packs of Mr noodles with 5 drops of soy sauce and put on my plate. The chicken wings were decent but the chop suey was way below par and I'm pretty sure the chicken wasn't fully cooked it, it was rubbery raw texture and looked pink to me. The FOH guy assured me that they boil it and then cook again so maybe I'm in my head but I'll post pictures anyway so you can judge for yourself. The one good thing about the meal was the egg rolls, they were decent. At the end of the experience the FOH guy deducted money although I told him not to as it changes nothing, money is not what I'm after and all I was proper food. I tipped 0 and paid 30 ish dollars for 3 people to barely eat their plates. The inside has seen better days and the food could use a lot of work. This place should just stop and close up shop, seems like their best days are long gone.

As I am writing this I am currently at a party with over 30 people from mainland China. I read other reviews about Hong Kong house not being authentic Chinese by so called foodies. However, the food we picked up did not last more than 3 minutes before the real Chinese people cleaned out the dish and attest that Peter offers a true taste of China. My wife who was born and raised in Hong Kong will only order food that tastes like home and in her words, anyone saying that HKHR does not offer real Chinese food is being lazy and ordering the dinners for #. We will make this restaurant a mainstay of our week. We'll done good sir.

I have ordered from here for years but tonight the food was horrendous. The food was lacking its proper flavour and had an off taste. I ordered sweet and sour chicken that was over cooked and dried out.The chicken balls were hard enough to knock a tooth out. See attached pic. The chicken is suppose to be where the finger is pointing. I called the restaurant and the apparent cook claimed there was no way anything could have been over cooked and refused to offer a resolution to the problem. I bought this food for my family and now I’m forced to throw it out.
