Botanical Gardens is my favorite go to place during the summer. It has something for everyone. The parking is free and easily accessible, and right next to it is the children’s arena. There’s only one washroom- the one inside the arena. Once you enter you see a beautiful peony flower area. If you’re a flower enthusiast then these Gardens are for you. There’s always multiple classes and activities happening- adult painting classes, peony festivities, EarlyOn class for infants and toddlers. The last time I visited I saw the Waterfall Garden and it was really so cute and wonderful for the kids. There were even some toads inside the water- perfect learning opportunity. There’s a bridge that takes you over the stream, but also there’s access to the stream if you’re the dip your legs in kind of person. Tons of flowers, two different play areas, picnic tables everywhere, some abstract art like metal bees, and metal mushrooms lol. My kids absolutely love the play structures- it’s usually shaded so we aren’t burning in the heat. On the absolute end of the Garden is a cute walk away with similar metal structure- that reminds me of a bird cage. This area is perfect if you want to throw a ball around, or go for a walk in circles. It’s also very picturesque just like the rest of the gardens. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is due to the lack of a washroom the rest of the way!

Wow, what a nice place. I have visited many places. But this place was awesome 💯. After entering this place I could see many colours in greenery, bird's sound, water flowing sound, wind sound everything I have admiring most. Every person should visit this place. To spend time with friends, loved ones and families, I will recommend this place. Why not, lonely people also want to go to this place. They will feel very calm and peaceful. If you have any pressure in mind, feel stressed, not happy with the current situation, argument with a loved person etc visit this place you will get peace of mind. Waling alone in the footpath, I couldn't describe that feelings in word. I will suggest for Senior person also. Very very nice place. I heard there are a lot of fish in the river that flowing along the garden. Sitting on the bench here, talk about anything will surely be an unforgettable memory in your life. I will recommend this place for everyone. 💯/💯

This place was wonderful!! It's not an overly big park, but just the right size for taking pictures and a nice leisurely stroll. It is hard to go anywhere for free these days, so this was a good option with no charge parking and entrance. The Peonies are in bloom now, so it was nice to see the different varieties! The paths are winding with beautiful trees, a small waterfall and flowers all around. The grounds were clean and very well maintained! There is a stream that runs through the garden and a bridge which crosses over it. There is also a small playground for children. We went on a Sunday (May 26th) and to our surprise, it was not crowded at all! The weather was perfect as it was not too hot or humid. I highly recommend going here to get away from the city and enjoy the peace and serenity of this gorgeous place! 😊👍

Visited the Oshawa Botanical Gardens today for the Peony Festival, and it was truly a beautiful experience. The gardens are exceptionally well-maintained and clean, offering a peaceful and scenic getaway right in the city. The variety and diversity of flowers—especially the peonies—went well beyond my expectations. Every section of the garden feels carefully curated and offers something unique to admire. The festival itself was vibrant and welcoming, with plenty of local vendors offering a wide range of unique, handmade, and specialty products. It added a lovely community feel to the natural beauty of the space. Highly recommend this spot for a relaxing day out, whether you're a plant lover, a photography enthusiast, or just someone looking for a breath of fresh air.

First time visiting Oshawa Valley Botanical Gardens and it was good. The weather has been very hot and dry over the last few weeks so the grass and flower beds were dry and the flowers in some areas looked dead. It was still a nice walk through the gardens as some flowers looked great. Early in the morning before the sun is hot would be a good time to go. Good place to take a nice walk or just to sit and enjoy a good book/music. People in the area when we went seemed friendly and would say hello and keep a small conversation from a distance. Hopefully we can get some rainy weather so the grass and flowers can get some much needed water.

Decided to visit Oshawa Botanical Garden on Monday. Pleasantly surprised how serene and calm it was. So close to downtown Oshawa yet so quiet and peaceful. There were a few people. Some walking their dogs ,sitting on a bench,at the playground with their children. A few women were doing some power walking, cyclists passing by on their bikes. There is something for everyone without feeling crowded. There's a creek that runs parallel yo the path. Saw a few salmon still swimming around. Very well kept grounds. There was maintenance crew at work that day Lovely Beautiful,Gorgeous are the words that come to mind to describe the Gardens.
