Sound system is outdated, rude workers, food service is so slow, worst event centre ever

Edit: Adding more context to my original review. I attended the concert held on August 17, 2024, the doors were supposed to open at 6:00 P.M. but they didn't open until 6:15. I was seated in section 110 but my friends who were seated on the floor didn't get in until 6:48 (twelve minutes before the event started AND despite waiting in line since 4:00 p.m.). When walking from the front to our section (110), we stopped to call our friends to ensure they got in safely and to check our tickets to confirm which row we were seated in at section 110, but were whistled to like DOGS by the workers who yelled at us to move along (and ignored us when we asked where section 110 is). Lined up at one of the food stands and they were behind on those who ordered fries, I didn't mind the wait but they didn't have an organized system on who ordered first so someone who ordered chicken tenders and fries, AFTER I did, got theirs first just because they were closer to the cashier and answered her before I did when asked "Who ordered the chicken tenders and fries?". There were also fruit flies all over the garbage and condiment area. After the event started, I had a migraine ten minutes into it because the speakers was overly loud, I was even wearing noise reducing earplugs but had to walk out multiple times. The microphones of the event holders kept cutting out or their volume would decrease and increase rapidly. The worst part of the night was that when the event ended, the crowd was too loud to understand the hosts so we weren't aware if we had to leave right away. SO, we started taking pictures in our seats and went up to the floor barricade to take selfies with our friends and were RUDELY YELLED at by a worker to get out immediately. I don't normally write bad reviews, but it was a very...

Went to see the globetrotters April 13. The show itself was amazing, my boys loved it. Would definitely buy tickets to see them again. My issue is the way the GM Centre failed in crowd control, and effective security. We were there at 4:15 as the magic pass show started at 5:30, doors to open at 5:00. There was a line started along the window, we were the forth family in line. As people came in they followed suit in line. As space ran out people started another line which would be like the banks system. As 5:00 approached, the doors opened and a rush of people came in and they were first to enter. It didn't go over well with all the people whom had been in line for over 45 mins. Staff and security did absolutely nothing!! Security was useless, not saying a word to anyone. Even when it was brought to their attention they chose not to correct the issue.... Until a man in line got very vocal, and a "supervisor" came out with a scowl on her face and asked the gal scanning the tickets what was going on. She told her she didn't know who was first, bla bla. The supervisor talked to her then she Walked away. All in all the front door staff and their security team dropped the ball...

I was attending as a vendor at the event and came early to set up my booth inside. Not only was there no one to assist.us with a dolly to unload, we left to fend for ourselves. Asking security to find the location of my booth was useless they could not identify their own layout and the walk the perimeter of this building everyday. They didn't care but.it was not like they had pressing business 7:30am in the morning before any patrons were.at the location. I thought dealing with main Operations team lady would of helped she was even worse told me all the tables and chairs were gone. So I didn't give up and had to ask event organizer only to find out there tables available so don't know why I was lied to. Given how much we paid to be there you think they at least be hospitable, not at all. They all had an negative attitude and very unfriendly, they need to work in their customer service skills. I will never go back there again if I can help it. I would give this place well below 0 stars for a review. I can see others have had the same similar terrible...

Recently, I have been trying out a premium seat. One for season ticket holders. The reason being my disabled brother has a new lady friend, and I never know when he'll be attending a game with me. Anyways, the box office was nice. Enjoy to let me check that seat out. I was extremely surprised they were able to. The experience is fantastic. The people I'm sitting next to make me feel like I've been there forever. We always celebrate together when the generals score. They're kind and friendly. The food service to my seats is as well. The price I pay for them seats are well worth the value. The tradition in Oshawa is definitely one that should remain in this city. The main goal around this venue should be to preserve it. To be able to attract others to come from other places. Market it properly. If they have to clear out some home's and small business around the area. To make it appear more attractive. They should do that. Just relocate all of them. Oshawa can be a beautiful place to visit.

Attended a Jiu Jitsu event at the Tribute Communities Centre and had an amazing experience! The venue was clean, comfortable, and well set up for the competition. Seating offered great views of the mats from all angles, and the sound and lighting helped create an exciting, professional atmosphere. Staff were organized and courteous, making everything from entry to concessions smooth and enjoyable. It’s a fantastic venue for martial arts events—can’t wait to come back for the next one! Lots of paid parking though Sat was free as the meter says no payment on weekends. They don’t allow out side coffee but there are plenty of snack bars and food on upper level.

Tribute Communities Center is a great place to watch a hockey game. We have seen the Oshawa Generals play there twice. Seats can be a little cramped, but the building seats 6000 and most seats provide a really good view of the ice surface. Concessions are typical for a sports arena, but the prices are better than most places. There is also a tremendous amount of history in the arena. If you love hockey, there are tons of displays that tell stories of players, coaches and important locals that have contributed to the History of the Oshawa Generals. Allocate some time before puck drop to roam the building and absorb some of the history in the building.
