DO NOT EAT HERE IF YOURE LOOKING FOR "ITALLIAN" FOOD !! Nick and Carmela sold it and its no longer "Itallian" or even "Canadian" for that matter. The Girl at the front is helpful and nice but shes the ONLY Decent thing about this place now. Pasta is NOT Fresh Itallian its store bougt Overcooked MUSH (*and the large pastas are at least several months old and have been siting in the front fridge for months) NO FRESH INGREDIENTS AT ALL ANYMORE Canned Mushrooms and Tomatoes -NO PARMESAN on Anything Including the Breads (if there was it would be dry and come in a plastic container im sure) The pizza had fresh diced tomatoes but that was the ONLY Frest thing in all our orders, none of the small pastas did ALL CANNED INGREDIENTS and the large pastas are mostly water The Pizzas or ok but NOTHING like Nicks were theyre ok if you like the Indian Style Pizza but its NOT Nicks Pizza Sauce anymore its Not The Incredible Meats and Ingredients This place USE TO have and DEFINITLY NOT AUTHENTIC ITALLIAN CRUST - but not if youre expecting "AUTHENTIC ITALLIAN" pizza which is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from the Indian style Pizzas then the Pizza is the only somewhat safe bet left here. - THEY STILL HAVE THE NERVE TO CALL FOOD "NICKS" it is D3FINITLY NOT Nicks Cooking anymore. The person cooking when I went in to order Was East Indian attempting to cook all Nicks Authentic Itallian Dishes, and its unfortunatley gone horribly wrong. We ordered delivery and Nobody Ate the food after the first bites of pizza and Nobody touched the pasta after just looking at it i tried and it was mush and water and flavorless so i had to go in to order next time to see what was going on with the great food i was use to from here, and what went so wrong with our orders. I called and complained and offered to bring ALL the food back but they dont seem to care I dont know how long the new people have owned it but im positive theyre still selling OLD FOOD/Pasta In the Fridge that Nick use to keep and restock FRESH every 3 days - these people have been here at least 3 months and this is the Pasta theyre selling ITS STILL CARMELLAS HAND WRITING ON THE FOOD IN THE FRIDGE and where its usually FULL theres only a few of each dish so looks like their trying to make their money of Nick and Carmellas OLD FOOD thats been there since they owned the place. Word of Advice if youve EVER eaten here and are expecting the same delicious Authentic Itallian food DONT WASTE YOUR TIME.If youve never eaten here before dont trust the pasta its AT LEAST several months old I thought it was bad cause it was over cooked and store bought but now that ive seen theyre STILL SELLING PASTA from when Nick owned the place it explains the Total Loss of all flavor and the Mushiness and watery Pasta dishes its more water then Pasta in the large...
Read moreWe recently ordered from this pizza place for the first time. On the positive side, the pizza tasted very good and seemed great until we found a hair in it.
On the more negative side: We live close to this restaurant, near Taunton and Harmony in Oshawa. About 3km from La Pizza. When the order was placed for delivery, we explained what we wanted and where the pizza was to be delivered to. We were given a total of $23.45.
When the pizza arrived, we gave the driver S28.00 to pay for the pizza and for a tip. The driver left, then returned shortly thereafter to advise that we had not paid enough and that we were five dollars short.
Thinking that perhaps we had heard the total incorrectly over the phone, I gave the driver another five dollars. I took the receipt but did not look at it until she left. The bill said that the total was $23.45, plus.a five dollar delivery charge that was hand written on the bill. So, I had just tipped the driver about ten dollars. The driver should have brought this to my attention, however I did not look at the receipt before I paid the additional money. I took her word that I was short five dollars when I should have looked at the bill closer. I guess that is my fault.
After the driver left and I had a chance to look at the bill, we contacted the restaurant to discuss. The person on the phone said that the five dollars was indeed the delivery charge, and is remitted to the driver directly. Again, keep in mind that this charge was never mentioned to us before the pizza was delivered, and was not fully explained by the driver. Also, I would again mention that our house is 3km away from La Pizza.
While the pizza was good, the hair that we found in it prompted us to throw the whole thing in the trash on the second slice. That, combined with the somewhat deceptive and unclear manner in which this delivery charge was applied has left us very disappointed in our experience with La Pizza.
We will not be ordering from them again. $35 dollars for pizza with hair as a topping and surprise delivery charges made for a bad meal. Your...
Read moreSo, I like to think of myself as a Pizza Connesueir of sorts. I spend a lot of time and money on trying new pizza places out, I love it.
I've been waiting to try La Pizza and Pasta for a while now and finally, I pulled the trigger.
First off, I must say you can tell the quality is there. The crust is amazing, cheese blend they use is perfect and the sauce also taste fresh. The slight spice level that is in the sauce is not overbearing, however, it's the only part I don't think I'd like to have every time I have pizza. Aside from that I found the sauce perfect.
It's perfectly cooked and I love that the crust is pretty thin.
This pizza would have gotten 5 stars from me, however, the pizza was hardly warm. I ordered it at 7:34 and the lady said 45-60mins, but that it would be closer to the 45 minute side. The pizza arrived at 8:35, so one hour. I called the store because sometimes people struggle with the buzzer to my building and I wanted to make sure that didn't happen. When I called they said the pizza was leaving the store now, like that exact moment. About 5-7 minutes passed and sure enough it arrived. It's one of those distances where it's just not ideal to walk with a pizza but very close to drive.
I don't really understand how it was pretty well cold. I saw the driver had it in a thermal bag, and also, it had only just left the store. It must have sat around inside for awhile prior to me getting it. Also, they close at 8.
I would go there again but I would appreciate my pizza to be freshly cooked and hot next time. It was disappointing to have everything else be so great and then that one temperature issue which really throws a lot out of whack when it comes to fully enjoying your meal.
The delivery driver was also very nice though and the staff on the phone were very polite so I never called in to complain about it. Seems like I might just have got a one...
