I’d usually give a good review as the food is really good but unfortunately today I was really craving Sushi so I decided to order through them. I can’t eat shrimp so I did mention in the notes if they can replace it with smoked salmon. I ordered the order through uber eats and got a notification after 10 min that order was cancelled by them, so when I called to chk what happened and the girl said maybe its a problem with uber, she reconfirmed with me that I wanted no shrimp in my rolls and mentioned there is no smoked salmon, and I said ok so can you switch with salmon? She said I will have to pay additional charge for that! I don’t understand how is it my fault for not be able to eat shrimp, makes that I have to pay Extra. I understand if its something that I asked to add extra to an existing roll, but if I pay $18.00 for a roll that already has a seafood in it I think it’s only fair to get my request for switching for no additional cost.
It’s too bad, I decided not to order because of this experience cuz I didn’t feel like someone was trying to understand and see my point of view, it was like its either black or white and doesnt make any sense to me.. I’ve been to different places before, and too bad that this experience will make me stop buying from there.. I will say though that food is very tasty and good, but I just dont see it worth...

My husband went to pick up the bento boxes we ordered by phone. When he arrived, our food was ready to go. Then there was another gentleman entered and lined up behind my husband to pick up his food. The lady in the cashier area just ignored my husband who stood in the first of the line and offered help to the gentleman behind him. When my husband asked her why she did so, she explained that she was afraid that the other customer would complain about her. (What??)
Interesting, I forgot to mention we are East Asian and the customer who had the priority to be served first is a white caucasian. We actually never experienced racial discrimination so directly in Canada. I didn’t know that in Canada, there is still such a place giving people priority based on their race/skin color.
P.S. I’m a regular customer of this store. But today’s experience ruined our whole day and I’ve been totally disgusted by what the cashier lady did‼️
To the cashier lady: Here is your complain for today. You are welcome. I wish you respect everyone just as same as you respect the white customer. Please understand that in Canada, people in every race knows how...
Read moreWe were so excited to try out Midami after hearing excellent reviews online - and they did not disappoint! The quality, freshness and presentation was superb! We compared this to our favourite Sushi restaurants when travelling and it is right up there with all!
We placed an order on Jan 31 to take advantage of the last day of their pre-opening special discount. Understandably the restaurant was extremely busy. We had phoned in our order several hours prior and unfortunately upon arrival it was lost in the shuffle. The owner was apologetic and had the entire kitchen quickly work on our order and they brought it out to our car in no time.
They also provided complimentary beverages for the error - which was in my opinion unnecessary but very much appreciated. This was the true test of a new business - they took a problem and fixed it quickly and accurately.
We ordered 8 different Maki rolls and each one was absolutely perfect. Fresh, generous portions of fish and vegetables and just the right amount of vegetables - the presentation was also stunning. We loved all of them but our favourites was the lobster roll, P & P, vegetable tempura, and volcano roll.
