Marble slab is the sweet goto for my fam most Friday nights. Me and my husband equally enjoy as much as the kids in ordering , watching and being handed over the crafted icecreams. But tday that person in the shop did everything possible to ruin my evening. He kept asking what I wanted and then would ask me to wait. I was fine, as it was a busy hour. He did make my first order, and he placed the cup in the freezer counter along with the other flavors. As i wasnt aware this was equivalent to the freezer, I asked him if he could keep it in the freezer. What really burnt my nerve was his suddent rude retort - "what do you think? Is this not a freezer". I noticed he was smiling and talking to another customer and this comment to me. I dnt want to be insulted and told him i wasnt aware. And he continued again. This time I lost it and told him I will not be spoken to like this. Continuing the argument he starts to make my next order - the brownie fudge . Ankther customer comes in and I stopped talking. He billed her and she left. Same time he fills up a cup with vanilla icecream. I stop and ask are you making my icecream, if yes then I should be able to choose a flavor of my choice. And he pounces on me again - you should tell me before, not now. I was like how do I know you are making mine? You are catering to other orders while talking to me, how will I know you are making mine. Best way is to ask me . And then my husband came in ( he was outside on the phone) and asks wats happening. I juat said hes being disrespectful, leave it. And he starts speaking in loud voice to my husband saying I am talking badly to him in front of another customer. I said if i wanted i could talk anything to you in front of her. But i am determined not to let anyone spoil my Friday mood. I am here to have my icecream and thats all I care about. Good lord, the way he stared at me locking eyes, it was almost frightful. Luckily we held on. Anyways people , and fellow icecream lovers. Dont let this arrogant man who has no clue about customer service demotivate you. Go give him a taste of his own medicine and walk out with your...
Read moreIf I could give no stars to this location I would for the absolute worst customer service experience Iâve ever encountered. Not only was the man working at this establishment beyond rude and ignorant, he also has no recollection of time, how to properly handle a situation where he is in the wrong, how to professionally talk to customers and how to ensure he doesnât get return customers or recommendations to visit the establishment in which he works.
Last Saturday my mother in law was to pick up a cake for my daughterâs birthday in which said man was 40 mins late for opening the location. When my mother in law asked to confirm the opening time upon his arrival. The man simply just said âyeah I was lateâ with no apology or explanation. When I had called the location afterwards to ask what happened as I felt horrible for my mother in law having to wait and then the man not even reflecting on the situation. When I had asked the man about the situation he became extremely hostile and ended up raising his voice into the phone. He asked me repeatedly âwhat my problem isâ when I asked him for his name to be able to call higher ups. He refused to give me his name and told me he didnât care who I called. He continued to tell me âI was luckyâ that he even opened as he just did so in order to provide me with my cake. (Not because itâs a large franchise that would have other customers buying ice cream). The man ended up hanging up on me while asking for his name again.
I called the Ajax location to see if there is an affiliation with the Oshawa in which the lovely owner of both locations picked up the phone. She was extremely receptive and understanding of the situation and even went as far as offering me coupons for the situation in which was a nice way to try to compensate for everything. But after reading the many Google reviews regarding (obviously) the same man, I believe the proper compensation would be termination of the employee that is clearly causing a loss of customers and business. The ice cream cake was truly delicious but I will never order another cake from a marble slab simply because of...
Read moreFirst and last time Iâll ever be going to this ice cream shop!! Wish I looked this place up and read the reviews before going here but we were in the area and my daughter and I felt like bubble gum ice cream. Long story short, they were very stingy with the amount of ice cream given even for a small and the pricing was absolutely ridiculous (20$ for 2 smalls and they try to force a tip -tip option automatically come up with no âno tipâ option, you have to put in 0% which Iâm glad I did since itâs just scooping ice cream no dine in service provided)- Explains why they have prices so hidden. If it wasnât for the fact that my young daughter was with me and was looking forward to a flavoured ice cream that is hard to come-by I would have walked away without the ice cream at that price. However, I decided to bite the bullet and expected at least it would be really good ice cream for that price -Nope, HORRIBLE. Literally the worst ice cream my daughter and I ever had (both agreed, never going back). We couldnât finish the small cups we had, ice cream seemed watered down or something and I come from a background/upbringing that puts an emphasis on not wasting food because there are so many who go without and if youâre fortunate enough to have food, you finish it. Still, couldnât do it, felt it would make us sick to eat anymore than the few bites we had. Would recommend going to the nearby McDonaldâs for ice cream (which Iâm not a huge fan of btw but at least itâs edible and affordable for what you get) before this place. Would not...
