This Tim Hortons used to be my favourite Timmy's because the atmosphere was really welcoming, friendly and positive and the staff was really nice too. I live in another town but recently I said to my dad I feel like going to this location (since it had been some time since I came here). However, I honestly don't know what happened but I regret coming and I don't think I will want to come again soon for some time...
My dad and I went to place the order and I always make it a point to smile and greet the employee / server but what I got in response was a set face and deadly 🫣 stare. The girl taking the order at cash was okay but the lady standing next to her: It was awkward and sent negative and unpleasant vibes to me. I felt uncomfortable. She looked like she had some issue with me and I never behaved in an unpleasant manner or was unkind to her. In fact when I have seen her before at cash she always greeted me with a smile and I was always happy to see a familiar and friendly face. When I was waiting for my order to be prepared on the side her coworker came and slid the cookie bag towards me and made a really bad face like she was disgusted with my presence and was having difficulty with giving me my food.
I know everyone is different. Maybe I am more of a sensitive person...I don't know. But when people are sending negative and unfriendly vibes like this it kind of starts my day off on the wrong note and makes my whole day not so good. I know that the employees at Tim Hortons work very hard and that sometimes certain rude and unpleasant customers may push their buttons and give them a hard time which is not right. But what I don't understand is if a customer is rude that's a problem but on the other hand when a customer is nice and friendly that's also an issue? What do you want then? Like I know we all have bad days. I also have worked frontline in an office job and let me tell you some people can be so nasty and rude in person and over the phone. But at the same time, there are visitors and people who are the sweetest and most kindest souls out there and I know that I really appreciate those people. Even when I would have a bad day I would give myself a message that I am not going to let it get the best of me and I am not going to give the other person (including the kind, pleasant and friendly individual) who comes in next / or who I speak to on the phone a hard time because I know that no one deserves to have my frustration with a previous unpleasant experience taken out on them, in fact no one does.
So this is my advice to the Tim Hortons Management and employees here. If an employee is having a bad day or needs a break go take one if possible or go outside and take a breather / get some fresh air. But pls don't take your frustration out on a pleasant customer or individual who just wants to enjoy a good coffee and a meal, nothing more. And if you want to be selective in who you want to treat with respect and give a warm smile to and you are not a people person then please don't be in a frontline job like this. Kindness, respect, being friendly is...
Read moreI went today for coffee and donut. I usually go their on daily basis. I just took my coffee and i sat their for 2-3 mint , one of the girl from staff came toward me and sad can you please go to another table. How rude this is? I opened my all material , she was doing cleaning in that area. I am not saying to her to stop cleaning! But staff should have some common sense how rude this is person is eating and you are saying can you please change the table????? I understand we have to clean the restaurant. I am also working at one location, we are doing cleaning and all but never said to our customer to stand from your table and change the place. After that she gave me bagel again and i went to the table and sat their for 2 mint she came and snatched that bagel from my hand and gave me new bagel . I sad to her miss what’s going on???? She didn’t spoke anything and left the place. At that time i ignored that situation and started comjng again here! I think that was my biggest mistake i should complaint at that time only. I hope now manager should take some steps...
Read moreI visited this location today, through the drive-thru at approximately 9:45am. I ordered three large coffees. When I pulled up to the window I was not greeted with a “hello” just passed the debit machine to pay for my order. – Seems to be the normal with Tim Hortons Staff
Once I paid and was handed my drinks, I noticed one of the drinks was marked incorrectly. I brought it to the attention of the employee at the window and she reassured me, the drink is the way I ordered it. ALTHOUGH it said otherwise. I than asked for a re-make and she took the drink scribbled out the incorrect writing and re-wrote over it, handing me back the drink. I was SHOCKED. I asked again for a remake and was told no, they need to serve the next customer.
At this point, I asked to speak with a manager and was told she (the lady at the window) was the manager. She did not provide me with her name, and when I asked about the District Manager, she too could not provide me with their name.
I left, disgusted with how I was treated and shocked, at the lack of customer service and empathy portrayed by the staff.
I will NOT be visiting this location again, and I will recommend the same to friends and colleagues.
I truly hope that TIM HORTONS looks into this and comes up with...
