Barrhaven Asian Dragon Chinese Food — Restaurant in Ottawa

Im not one to write reviews but I’m deeply disappointed in Asian Dragon. I used to live in barrhaven and ordered combo plates here before so I thought they be a good choice for some family comfort food after losing a loved one. Went in last night and ordered a family dinner for 4 and spent $113. My first complaint. We asked for a substitution of general tao and were told it would’ve been $2 to upgrade. I said that’s fine. The guy asked me if I wanted the receipt and I said no it’s okay. My wife and brother both understood the same. As they were in the store with me. After waiting about 20 mins for food we got it and went home only to find no rice packed in the food. Fine. It was a mistake but upon calling to tell them of their mistake and overcharging me. The guy on the phone started to get rude and irate by raising his voice at me. I told him I was over charged and he said he told me it was a $2 substitution fee plus the difference in the item. A whole whopping 6.95 which is almost like a whole other item. (Robbery )I had to now raise my voice and tell him not to be yelling at me for their mistake. He sighted “it not his fault and he didn’t pack the food” instead of owning up, he cut me off and passes the phone to a lady. Secondly my wife ended up driving all the way back and having to wait for them to give her 2 containers of rice because their delivery wouldn’t take place for 20-25 minutes after we already got home in which time the rest of food was already getting cold. The lady did apologize to her and the guy said he was “overwhelmed” with many orders at that time. Which is not an excuse to be rude to your customers imo. It’s not my fault you’re busy, I’m a paying customer just like everyone else. Thirdly after waiting so long to eat… the food was quite disgusting and unappetizing my entire family was displeased with the food quality. There was no freshness to it and I started to wonder if we were given food items from days before. The general Tao I paid a “fee” for and the “price difference” was extremely gross and soggy with little to no sauce like it had been microwaved 2 days later. My family coined it as just general chicken without the Tao. The rice was also dry and hard. Overall most of the food just had no taste. I will admit The best thing was the wonton soup, spring roll, and the garlic ribs which were mostly fatty anyway. Which is all I ended up eating anyway. The rest of food we tossed in the garbage after everyone could nibble on what they could. Needless to say I am not impressed, whether mistake or not after all the commotion and going there twice. The food wasn’t even good. Even in the photo I took you can see just how unappetizing the food looked and that it wasn’t up to par. There are a few other photos of General Tao that don’t look remotely like ours. I won’t be going back here. I’m sure this review will be met with negative comments as I’ve seen them respond to other people with a very rude and nasty attitude because they didn’t say what they wanted to hear. But that’s okay. My money will never be spent at Asian dragon in...

Barhaven Asian Dragon Chinese Food has become my go-to spot, and I honestly can’t recommend it enough. I get their lunch special at least twice a week, and every time, it’s consistently fresh, delicious, and incredibly satisfying. Whether you’re a regular or trying it for the first time, you’ll notice right away how much care they put into their food.

The portions are generous, the pricing is very reasonable, and the speed of service is unmatched. Honestly, I can’t understand the negative reviews I’ve seen here and there. They feel like they must be from competitors trying to bring them down because this place is a gem. The quality, flavor, and value you get here are unbeatable, and it’s the kind of place that quickly becomes a favorite for anyone who gives it a try.

Not a impressed. I never write reviews but the sign by the door suggest I google rate them. 3rd time there. The other visits have been about a 3.5☆. Today's experience makes me revisit who to get Asian Take out from. 1st. Young man on the cash should pay more attention to guest then his phone...if he did he wouldn't have made the following errors. 2.order General Tsoa Chicken....when to pick up order it was General Beef....I didn't even think that existed...then I was told that's what I asked for...explain I didn't...but he went to the back and had it remade but not before telling them "the guy says he didn't order this but that's what he told me"....note to young man...customers can hear you. 3.I was told total to. E will be 15 minutes. It was 25...then they had to redo my Generals Chicken. 4.The General chicken was dry...I can visibly see the batter and it was cold. Gross.... 5.I ordered the General and the Chow me in Spick. ..he asked me strong or medium...I told him we like heat...Strong....they weren't. 6.Asked for Szchewan Vegetable Spicy....it didn't even make the bag....that being said at least I wasn't charged gor it.

These items have been our go to items for 10 years...they have never been forgotten at other places.

I guess it's back...
