I had never tried the wheat grass shots before so I decided to try one today. To my surprise the girl who was making it didn’t wear gloves. She was handling all the grass with bare hands and touching the counter and it was just alll very unappetizing to watch. I asked the girl who served me (Polly) if it might be more appropriate to wear gloves in this case given how much they are handling the grass- her reply was “when people wear gloves, they are less likely to wash their hands, so no gloves is safer than wearing gloves”!!! (?!) I’m sorry but I’m in the healthcare industry and I’ve never heard this strange rationale before. I asked if they could please re-make it with gloves. The girl was already halfway through my wheat grass shot, but she said they would start over with gloves this time. However, she continued using the same juice she’d made without gloves. I asked her straight up if they had TRULY started over, or if they had just put on gloves halfway through, and continued making it. She tried to convince me that they had started over when they hadn’t - I was watching f the whole time!! I insisted that they had not started over, and so they threw out the first shot and then actually started a new one with gloves. The bottom line is that I am OK with people making mistakes, or forgetting to put on gloves, but when I am lied to, and then given strange reasons for why it’s safer NOT not wear gloves… that crosses the line. This probably explains why she called me back to the cash at the end to give me a refund on my wheat grass. The food industry, similar to the health industry, especially during Covid times, should be very vigilant in terms of cleanliness. The public expects a certain degree of diligence when it comes to handling and...
Read moreBooster Juice Hunt club has lost their identity ! And it’s hard writing this review because I love this store but not what it’s starting to become. New owners you need to bring back the caring Atmosphere when walk in and you are happy to see who is behind the counter because they invested in you not just giving you a booster juice in the morning and send you on your way. I cared to know the staff and always tip them because they deserved it and more. They work hard and they always gave their best even on their worst of days and still appreciated the interactions and respect they had for me and other customers that came in every morning. Yes mornings a tough time to be at your best but they did it. My hope is that you bring the atmosphere back that your customers feel like booster juice is still home and not just another Tim Hortons or any other place where your just handing food out and trying to up sell to get more money from them when they don’t have any rapport with your customers and they feel alienated and decided booster juice Hunt club is just another store and go else where. I am sending love to you this this morning and I care that you have a healthy business but we will see in the up coming days and weeks if you hear what customers...
Read moreIf you're into Booster Juice, this is my favourite one in the Ottawa Area because the staff is very friendly and get your order ready promptly. They seem to genuinely appreciate their customers.
If you're unfamiliar with Booster Juice or are not sure about it, it's a solid option for smoothies and juices. The variety of options and flavours is good and dependable. The non-liquid options are nothing to get excited about. Most are meant for people who need something solid in their stomach.
The place lacks any kind of environment; it is very much a 'get your smoothie and get out' kind of place. If it were located in the financial district of Centretown, I'd understand that, but it's along Hunt Club near business parks and other places where workers go for lunch, so I'm not sure why it feels so hurried.
This Booster Juice is fully wheelchair...
