Tldr; they're kinda mean and don't help you out if you've had a terrible experience with food and service. Plus they offer no sincere apologies. Take your money and go elsewhere. I wish I knew going into this that I was basically paying for SALT on bread and toppings. I ordered on their website so I could see the menu clearly and walked the 200m to pick it up. Walking into the restaurant doors, the waitresses saw us and turned and disappeared and so tried to locate the pick-up location (which was across the restaurant). We didn't want to bother all the other families who were eating there with their lack of taste buds and walked around to the other entrance. Walking in, there were 3-4 guys in the pizza section on the left and 2 of which just turned and stared, looked us up and down and turned back to whatever they were doing. My favourite part was the terrible customer service they provided which consisted of a blonde old lady who also did not acknowledge us in any capacity as she moved back and forth in front of us. She puts the CRUST in crusty and should learn to smile more. She made her way behind the counter and finally said "Hi", we mentioned that we had an online order, which she repeated and asked for a name. After getting the pizza that was already on the counter, I asked her about the promotion they had on their website (15% off on pick-ups), to which she said she had never seen before in her long and crusty life. Maybe she is foreign to technology and doesn't have time to learn about such things because she's too busy dishing out awful dining experiences. When I noticed that on their menu that the same pizza I got online was 10 dollars less, I asked her why there were such differences in the ordering options, to which her useless customer service self replied, "They are all different prices, it's a different price if you order online, if you pick-up, and if you dine in". I really enjoyed the lack of clarity in her response and her off putting attitude. I realized that I had just been robbed and trying to understand her reasoning as to why there are such differences in prices seemed very defeating. Getting home, and already being disappointed with the whole experience, we were still looking forward to eating this overpriced piece of salt. I really did not enjoy it and wanted to call to get some clarity on what the hell I just paid for. The stale man who picked up the phone explained that I should have just known to call and order instead of using their website which they set up to do the job. His solution was that I should have known and that's all that he could say. He offered nothing in return except solidified that the team they have working there is run by people who really do not care about their customers and generally hate their life. I am a little sad at how this turned out as I've mainly heard good things about this place. So unless you're a senior and/or already go there, I would go anywhere else. UPDATE: These passive soul sucking mops are really good at being more useless than you previously thought possible. If you want a refund from an online order, they won't give it to you, they "get paid to make the pizza" as he said but can't issue refunds. At no point in our two callS did he apologize for the terrible customer service OR the terrible pizza that we paid for physically and emotionally. Not worth it. I wish I could bill these robbers the therapy bill.

honestly really surprised that the reviews are so high. we ordered a large Mediterranean and some garlic dips, and it was all really underwhelming. it wasn’t that hot and the pizza lacked flavour. the artichokes on the pizza were super hard and there wasn’t enough sauce for the amount of cheese and flavourless toppings. we were pretty disappointed. when we went to pick it up, we walked in through the doors where you would be seated to sit to dine in. no one approached us for a few minutes and we realized ourselves that we had to go through a separate set of doors for pick up orders. once we entered through the right set of doors, it still took a few minutes for anyone to acknowledge us. while waiting to pay, we picked up a paper menu and saw that the same pizza we ordered online for $38 was $28 in store. we inquired about this and the server smugly said that in store and online prices are different with no explanation. her customer service was terrible, unfriendly, and rude. after eating the pizza and not being happy with it, we called to let them know and to also ask, again, why the price difference was so big. the person on the phone said that next time we should just call to place our order because the price online is higher due to credit card fees. i i found it pretty appalling that it was to be assumed on our end that we “should have just called.” that isn’t made clear anywhere on the website. if you have to offset your credit card fees onto your customers, that’s not a good look. and, if you have a website, it should be useful and user friendly—it was neither. from customer service to taste, it was terrible. the server was rude and unhelpful and the pizza was just not that good, and especially for the price we paid, it was absolutely not worth it. it’s pretty clear the restaurant caters to their regulars that dine in. it was unwelcoming for us as new customers and the food was very subpar for the price.

This is one of those "if you know, you know" places. While they have many in the city, none of them top the original OG Colonnade on Metcalfe. As always the food was amazing. Delicious pizza and amazing chicken wings are always my go to. The service however is always above and beyond what you call great service. They go the extra mile to make sure you enjoy your food and your dine in experience. We were fasting for Ramadan and our pizza came 9 mins before time to break fast. Our waitress (I wish I got her name) INSISTED she come back at sunset to serve us the pizza on our plates. She was so amazing and attentive. It's the little things that count. All that to say, if you haven't tried it, do it.

"You Always Remember Your First" is a reference many of us are familiar with. Well I recall "My First", back about 1972 when we were going to see this new movie that had such great reviews. You "may" have heard of it, it was "The Godfather". I was just a youngster, but I knew right away that they both were going to be " classics "I would never forget. As I grew up, when I was taking a young lady out on a first date, or having a work related meal with someone I wanted to impress, the choice was obvious about where to go. And if pizza was not their thing, that was fine with me, as the canneloni, or lasanga, you name it, was also " World Class ! "

Perhaps the best sign about how good the food is there, was the fact that when we took my friends there, they took their family there, who would take their relatives there when they visited, and so on. Ottawa has so many great places to go to, but as far as I know, when I had taken someone to The Cafe Colonnade, and they wanted to take friends to a great place, they would " MAKE THEM AN OFEER THEY COULDN'T REFUSE !!!! "

It is now getting close to the " Half Cenntury Mark ', since I went and saw " The Godfather " and had my first pizza there. (Really? It can't be that long ??? I WANT A RECOUNT !!!)) Still, whenever I feel like having a pizza, the one I still go for, is always from " The Cafe Colonnade ! " Try it, your friends, the relatives, their friends, wll all like it ! But check out their menu, as " It's an offer you...
