Very unpleasant experience with the restaurant today…I’m on a trip to Sutton passing Ottawa and decided to try out this place reading the positive reviews and my personal preference on Thai food. I ordered Pad Thai and asked if it can be just a little bit or very mild spicy, the waiter said yes they can do spicy pad Thai and I emphasized to make sure just a little bit is good and he said ok. Then it came out to be super spicy for me (I can eat extremely spicy Szechuan food easily) and asked to change, then a lady came to our table challenging with a quite rude attitude: “Did you order spicy pad Thai?” “Well, I order pad Thai with very mild spicy” “If you can’t eat spicy, you don’t order spicy food in a Thai restaurant next time, or you order non-spicy one with hot sauce on the side” “I did specify the degree of spicy, and how can I know how spicy your food is if it’s my first time here, and if “hot sauce on side” is an option, why you didn’t offer when I order…” The lady cut me off and became even ruder: “Are you blaming us?” I was suddenly shocked and speechless since I’ve never been treated like that before when the food doesn’t meet my expectation. But yes, I am blaming you on trying teach your customer a lesson, showing an attitude and completely ruining my mood of having a relax dinner after hours of driving. Then she said: “Do you still want the pad Thai or not?” “Of course I need it, I haven’t had….” Another cut off.. “Then I’ll make you no spicy at all, so we don’t waste another noodle” I probably just nodded or said ok, don’t quite remember since I was shocked and couldn’t react quickly, then she just left with an unhappy face. Finally I got a completely non-spicy pad Thai with no hot sauce even on the side (and no one even came after to check if we need anything else)… so I didn’t get the food I expected at all…I don’t think Thai restaurants should have only one level of spicy, at least that’s not the case for several popular Thai places in Toronto, and it’s so not professional for the entire communication. The food just taste normal, and the bad attitude made it worse. Will never come back again and would not recommend to people from Toronto (PAI northern Thai kitchen is so...
Read moreKhao Thai's food safety and service attitude make me feel unsatisfied, if there is an option for a 0 star.
I called to make a reservation, and when I arrived, the store said they couldn't find my name, and when I found my name on the iPad, they said my phone number didn't match, and I showed my phone records and used my student ID to prove it was me, and the store said, "Then you can come in with us. The phone number did not match the record, the store should not reflect on their own problems? Instead, they are just trying to find out the reason for the customer. When the three of us were ready to check out at the end of the meal, I had a dishwashing wire in my mouth, so we approached the store, a lady with short yellow hair, who said she would report to the owner, and then asked me to put the wire on a paper towel, and when I put it in, she took the paper towel away directly. My friend stopped her and said this is a prove what makes you take away, and then she said sorry I give you a discount. So we think is also out to play do not want to pursue, and so she brought the invoice, found that only reduced $ 8 glutinous rice money. The wire is eaten in the pad thai inside, we do not want to pursue and want to hurry to leave, My friend suggested please pay attention to hygiene. And we are ready to pay and leave.
After the yellow-haired lady left, a young long-haired waiter was sent over to deliver our bill, and at that moment I was very dissatisfied, why should we arrange a young man to settle this matter, when we checked the bill, we said very clearly that today's tip we will not pay the minimum 18% as you have forced us to do, because we are very dissatisfied. When we finished this sentence, the young girl said you have the right to give low tips then just heaved the POS on the table and left. At that moment we decided to stop tipping, we are here to enjoy the food based on the rating and not to...
