This is my favourite store in Ottawa. The good: Staff is very professional and more than accommodating! The product they sell are unique and unlike any other. Speed of delivery. Patience with shoppers who want to try on lots of different styles.
The meh: The floor is rough hewn planks with paint over them. Hard to keep clean. The store is very small (but cozy) lighting could be a bit better. It is in junkie central. Ottawa Byward market seems to be overrun with junkies and zombies as of 2024. I returned to my car and some chick was lighting a bloody crack pipe next to it. This is not the store's fault but it is a negative factor to the neighbourhood it's in. There is no washroom for the staff, they need to go across the road to use the over-used public washrooms.
Other than that, I would not hesitate to visit the store and despite the zombies, I personally haven't been hassled in the...
Read moreSo I ordered my wife a pair of Vogs on sale! The store sent me a pair that had been worn! When I called I got a very rude girl who really did not want to help, so I spoke to the manager he did not really want to pay for the return postage. But eventually he agreed to pay for it, gee thanks don’t do me any favors!!!! They were adamant that I was wrong about the shoes being worn. I thought I was buying my wife a new pair??? So they washed the bottom of the shoes and sent the same pair back out. Now I feel like a complete jackass, due to the fact these imbeciles think we would not notice the scuff marks that you cannot WASH OFF!. Do not trust this store for they are a bunch of liars. It’s too bad that a few can wreck the reputation of such a classy shoe maker, if they try to trick you for such a small detail what does that say about...
Read morePurchased a pair of shoes online and they came from the Ottawa Store. They were scuffed, had skin/sweat marks, and were discoloured. I was told that if I were to put the shoes in direct sunlight for a few days that the colour would “match up”. I don’t think it is appropriate that I have to risk the integrity of the shoes and damage them further. The damage on the heel was apparently made by “the handmade tools used to wrap the leather around the heel unit”. If something is handmade, there should be more attention to detail.
I’ve love my other pairs of Fluevogs and they’re some of my most comfortable shoes, but I am deeply disappointed in the advice and service I was given. These shoes should have NEVER left the warehouse. They were clearly worn around the store, tried on, and not cleaned....
