Second time I have had a bad service experience here. First time, entered on foot, ordered a combo to go. Forgot to ask for condiments. Everyone on staff were overwhelmed dealing with the drivethrough, order was getting stone cold by the time they remembered I was there and brought it over to me. Then I stood a full ten more minutes trying to wave someone cover to grab me a pack of ketchup. Needless to say the order was COLD by the time But got home. Today was the worst yet. Three years later. Everything's been rearranged inside. Meet friend at table. We decide I should get up to order and that I will pay a teller with cash. Reorienting myself, (there are new self-serve kiosks all over, the counter has been completely moved within the past three months, as I'd only been in to use a bathroom just weeks before today) I get reoriented and find one clerk who is avoiding eye contact strangely. I walk over, and say "Hi, can I order here?" Dead silence as she stares at her hands. I wait for her to at least look at me. Or say something. Nothing. I say "uh, OK, could I get two filets and two medium colas? Again silence. Again she is unmoving and refusing to look at me. Gets a dirty look on her face. I have never ever seen this person before. I figure out fast that she is unstable, politely repeat my request, and hand over the money. Which she takes silently, prints a ticket and hand it to me. All without uttering a sound or looking at my face. Beside my table are two guys at the next table. I ask them if they had been treated the same as I had been. Their experience had been even worse. They had requested that they dine in, and requested that the food be brought to their table. She had treated them the same when ordering, and brought the tray over to the table, actually throwing, yes throwing, the tray onto their table without so much as looking at them, with a dirty look on her face. I told him that we should both complain. He agreed. I walk over and quietly ask one of the microphone headed drivethrough staff if I can speak to the manager, not a so-called shift manager (who basically only keeps tabs on who is it on break etc.) I can see who is likely he real manager, an older male who is dressed as the manager. I point him out. Immediately she is loud. "Is there something I can help you with?". I politely repeat the question. She gets even louder. Big game smile. "What seems to be the problem?" I quietly say again that I would like a word wih the the manager. Instead she nearly laughs in my face and taps another drivethrough staffer who whirls in on me with a sickening smile on her face. Again it's loud, again they demand to know first. "Have you got a problem with our staff? Finally I tell them there was need to raise their voices and wave it all off. I quietly say that I am obviously wasting my time, and that I, and the separate patrons at the table next to me, both have a complaint about the rude behavior of ONE of the staff. I point atthe strange, silent and rude one and say, quietly, "This person here". Then I sit down. The man at the table beside me, with his friend are finishing eating. He tells me I am right that complaining was a waste of time. "They're just laughing. They think it's a game." They get up to leave. I say "People are willing to put up with with bad service". As he leaves, he tells the counter people: "This the last time I will ever eat here."
Note: blasting 1970s improvisation lounge jazz music gets old pretty quick. At least its not Beyonce and Miley. Please update jazz to more...
Read moreTables were dirty, not wiped off. Long wait for food that wasn't hot. It seemed pre-cooked, not fresh. Ketchup was very watery. The entire location is filthy. Numerous fruit flies surround the dirty counter where the self-serve soft drinks are. Ottawa Public Health should visit more frequently. When eating in, food should be on a tray, not in paper bags. The music being played is terrible, and no one is able to change it. Even though this is a convenient location, there's no improvement so it's time to find somewhere else to go a few times a month when we're out.
UPDATE: We were in the area, so gave it another try. The Western BBQ quarter pounder and fries were lukewarm, not hot and fresh. It wasn't busy at lunch time on a Friday, which is telling. Had to ask for ketchup, which in packets is still watery, and had to ask for previous customers ' bags to be taken off the table so it could be wiped off. This location needs new management.
Second Update: They still need to be asked to clean tables. The women's bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while. Food was warm, not hot. Very stingy when you ask for extra pickles, you get what should be the normal portion.
Tried here again aft they reopened post-renovations. The renovation is awful. Atmosphere is very cold, seats are very uncomfortable. I get that they want customer turnover, but when the seats are that uncomfortable, you don't want to even stay, and bringing takeout home cold isn't very good. Service was slow, as the counter area is smaller. Not everyone wants to use the impersonal kiosks, and who knows how clean they are? Touching them, then having to go wash your hands before eating, and finding a table - no thanks. Garbage aren't changed frequently enough. At the counter, Stephanie is gone, too. She always made our experience great. We've gone from coming here a couple of times a month to twice this year! That's twice in 7 months, it's not when things are improving when it's within walking distance from home. There's no more refills on drinks at this location either, but there is at other McDonald's. If it's McDonald's you're craving, choose your location carefully. We...
Read moreVisited again tonight. Terrible experiences continue. Ordered food for 4 with deserts and arrived for curbside pickup because I know drive thru won't work for such a large order, but curbside is not open.
So I do drive through, and immediately get asked to go up front and park. I ask why curbside is closed, I'm told not enough staff. I ask for food to be put in large take out bags used for curbside and Uber deliveries because there is a lot, and am told it will be.
I park out front and wait. Two ladies show up carrying 3 small bags, one happy meal separate and two trays of drinks. So much for short staff, and so much for my request for large take out bags. I ask them to return with the large bags since I cannot carry all that food alone in so many small bags.
A single lady returns, and tries to shove two bags through my window at the same time. I have to tell her to wait while I put the first bag on the seat next to me. She makes a comment of how much easier it was for her to carry out all the food alone. Well duh! That's the point and you should have done it without me asking for such a large order.
I get home and two quarter pounder burgers are falling apart in their box , and another was literally built upside down with the top of the bun on the bottom, as a double quarter BLT instead of the single I ordered. There are no straws for 4 drinks and no spoons for 4 flurries. Only two napkins in total.
All in all, I'm simply flabbergasted by the sheer incompetence of your crews. I say crews because this happens all the time, every time at this location. No matter how many coupons you give me, it imply doesn't change the fact that your location is going into the ground with service like that. Ever since new ownership it has been getting worse and worse. I'm therefore going to take the opportunity to share this feedback with McDonald's Canada directly because they should be concerned with franchises that tarnish the corporate brand like yours does.
If I could give 0...
