First time I post a complaint on the Web but felt I needed to. Was at Rogers Bistro yesterday to celebrate a friends birthday. At my table two of us had the Lasagna. Terrible choice. the plate came at our table and it looked amazing. What unfolded was terrible. Large lasagna white noodles, absolutely no sauce just plain white large thick tasteless noodles folded on top of one other and no sauce. A dab of cheese on top, sauce was on the side (not much). We told our waitress that there was no sauce and asked for sauce. 2 very small bowls were brought over for each one of us, not enough to blend the noodles. I ate what I could cover in sauce and left half the plate, then was asked if I would like a box to take it home, LOL. At the end I suggested to the waitress that this was bad and that the cook could be notified of the incident. Her response was that she already did and that " they all discussed this in the kitchen and that from now on they will start adding sauce between the lawyers of lasagna noodles" Helloooo. To be fair.... the Rogers bistro salad was good. I had the same experience over 1 1/2 year ago with the lasagna, but thought I would give it another try. The last time I was there a year ago I opted for the Chicken wrap, was edible, that's all, waited almost an hour, apparently they had to cook the chicken. I should have taken a photo of my plate, a farce. no stars for me. Sadly I think that these reviews are not being read by the management, or perhaps just ignored, otherwise I believe the food would have improved by now, after reading many other complaint about the lasagna from other...
Read moreItâs been awhile since we went to Rogers Italian Bistro - since before Covid in fact. We found this little spot and popped in for an early dinner. So pleasant and FUN! My husband has some significant food sensitivities and often there are only one or two things on a menu that he can have. This restaurant not only had more than that which he could order âas isâ, they were also very happy to accommodate changes to some of the menu items to provide him with even more choice. We both enjoyed every bite, and the staff were all fabulous! We could see them juggling their tables skilfully, chatting with those clients who were happy and chatty, respecting those who clearly wanted to have a peaceful and uninterrupted evening together. We ended up going there several times in 2019 for dinners and lunches, only discovering their big hearty serves for breakfast later in the year. A fabulous restaurant, fun and friendly staff, with very reasonable prices. Now that the covid limitations are gone, and weâve settled in a spot west of Ottawa, we are planning to get over to Rogerâs soon in hopes that itâs just as good as it was many times we went there in 2019. Weâre looking forward to it! Once youâve had a chance to check them out Iâm sure you will look forward to...
Read moreMy husband and I had dinner here recently. He had the veal marsala and I the veal picatta. We have had these dishes at other restaurants and were never disappointed. Unfortunately, cannot say that about these dishes served to us at Roger's. What we got looked more like beef and not veal. The toughest we have ever had. The sauce used for the picatta dish looked like a huge blog jelly type thing that probably came from a can and the taste was disgusting. The sauce on the marsala also tasted like it came from a can. Also no taste of marsala wine whatsoever. If this is their way to cut costs and keep prices the same, they need to rethink their business plan. I returned the veal picatta and asked for the veal marsala. Despite it not being the best marsala it was soooo much better than the picatta. If anything saved these 2 dishes, it was the rice and veggies that accompanied them. My husband worked in a restaurant for 30+ years and knows exactly what these 2 dishes should look and taste like. What they served us was...
