Tonight, I had the best chicken shawarma of my life. My wife had a craving and turned the car around to Shawarma Rosana. I am so glad she did. We each got a small #11 trio (small) - I got mine all dressed but he artfully packed but not crammed that pita, so you got a taste of each ingredient with every bite. I pretty much inhaled it. Oh and the potatoes [chef kiss] the seasoning... With what tasted like fresh squeezed lemon juice? They were cooked perfectly, not dry, and so damn flavourful that even this full (two hours later no less) I would eat more. My wife was full before she finished hers but she agreed it was one of the best chicken shawarma she'd ever had.
The 5 stars for Atmosphere - there's a place to sit and have a quick bite at a counter and one or two tables. This is an artist behind that sneeze guard; he's not wasting money on decor because when you eat this food nothing else matters. The world melts away until it's just you and a sandwich and those delicious potatoes with garlic sauce. In those precious moments, you're truly free.
From my wife's perspective, I likely looked like Gollum while I ate it. All hunched over, making all kinds of sounds and rocking back and forth. Pretty much inhaled it; I bet she was surprised I even tasted it.
I don't care what I looked like.
That was the best chicken...
Read moreI have been there once, and service at best is average, except for today. The food is good, typical sharma food etc.. arrived behind 3 peoples and waited my turn for a little over 19 minutes, then came an Uber eat, waiting roughly another 7 minutes patiently while the cook was making his order. While still standing, a regular customer walked in, and the cook looked at me and asked if I was there first, I laughed! Really! I gave my order and then the cook spoke with his regular customer. Instead of making my food first, he started to make his food, skipping my simple order. He started to assemble his 3 chicken plate platter. I did wait, i just walked out! On that note, im glad i did, I noticed the cook never wore gloves, touching pretty much everything around him. The worse was the interaction between the register and food without washing his hands in between, delicious! The place looks dirty, I would avoid as much as possible, their better service and...
Read moreIn my quest of finding the best 'hole in the wall' places I stumbled upon this place. This place literally is the size of two cubicles yet has the best shwarma I've eaten in this part of Ottawa. Quality wise its on par with shwarma king (said to be the best in ottawa), but the sandwiches are smaller. On the plus side the sandwich is only $5. The meat itself is actually juicier and tastier than shwarma king. If you're in the area and want a quick lunch thats tasty, warm and inexpensive go to this place right away. Its a low end place, with low end prices but great taste.
It is located right next to mac's, where you can grab yourself a...
