Ordered yellow (medium) curry with chicken and Thai soup. If I could I would give ā€œminus fiveā€ stars. Curry: - overcooked rice - shallow, bland curry sauce - mixed in boiled potatoes (boiled potatoes in a curry?!) - few pieces of chicken, frozen carrots and yellow onions. The base price is 12.75, and each piece of vegetable cost +1.00 to add (e.g, basil +1.00, ginger +1.00). So basically you are paying 13$ for rice, few tiny chicken pieces and carrots. I’m okay with add-ons, but the curry had no flavour. The quality is much lower than the price. Thai soup: see attached picture - that is literally what I got. - noodles, chicken, few bean sprouts and that’s it. No crispy shallots, no vegetables. Broth was not flavourful, it was water. - ā€œcherry on topā€ was a string of HAIR INSIDE THE SOUP.

I visited this establishment for lunch and ordered the PAD SEE EW. The menu depicted the dish with greens, so I specifically requested that my order include them. However, upon receiving my order, I was disappointed to find that it lacked the greens I had requested. Additionally, the portion of shrimp included was very small, especially considering the price of $17.96. This experience leads me to believe that this establishment may be overcharging Ottawa U students and not delivering on their promises.

Little disappointed I ordered pad thia and large pho with extras and asked for utensils, didn't get any utensils and normally everything I ordered from the one closet to me I get Sriracha and housin sauce on the side in containers and I didn't get any and not to mention they put all my extras in the one bowl when they normally just add it on the side in a container and I had like no broth in my soup what a mess!!!

Terrible service two times I’ve gone out and spent my money else where..WONT EVER RETURN AS STAFF ARE REPULSIVE. With their attitudes and terrible remarks… if you want returning customers whoever owns this location. Please… get better staff.. I’ve had quite a few ppl I know go else where to because of them… I will NEVER RETURN HERE… the woman with the glasses don’t know her name. Also one other guy extremely rude. No customer service… they make super rude remarks almost very impulsively.. avoid at all costs I lose my appetite by the way these ppl speak to me as well as some other individuals….. . I now will only go to the location at Rideau mall instead they are always friendly there. Great customer service there. I would love to speak to the manager of this place…. As today I walked in and had a super bad experience with one of the staff members. Who made a very aweful comment and offensive. In front of everyone in the store.. And should be FIRED… as I went home literally almost in tears and said I’d take my money else where. ā€œHe said if you want a better deal or free food make sure you have money when you come here or get out.ā€ All because all because I had just came from the mall and spent a lot.. and forgot what I had in my account.. offered to pay cash instead. But then left as he said this comment. TERRIBLE… if I wanted a free or ā€œcheap mealā€ I would go to McDonald’s or just eat at home. You jerk!. Sorry I forgot to check my bank account and wanted to pay cash...

Review for Thai Express, 265 Laurier Ave E, Ottawa:

I want to share my experience so that future customers are aware. My wife, who works as an Uber Eats driver, visited this restaurant to pick up an order. The food wasn’t ready when she arrived, so she waited patiently — which is a normal and reasonable thing to do.

Shockingly, the owner verbally abused her with extremely offensive language, followed her outside, and even made obscene gestures. This behavior is completely unprofessional and unacceptable. No customer or delivery person should ever be treated this way.

I strongly advise anyone considering this restaurant to be cautious. Treating people with respect is basic decency, and unfortunately, that is lacking here. The world is a better place when we support fairness and kindness — please think twice before supporting a business that...
