I must have come on an off day considering it’s been a place that’s been hyped up for a while. The server had two other tables to serve so it wasn’t busy but didn’t come to us with water when greeting us. Had to ask for that. In my defence I should have had water in the car. After a while after we got our food and drinks we saw her head against the wall at one point. Then she was eating and chatting with another colleague down the hall. What an absolute gem! Ventuno reminds me of my years spent living in New York City! The space is beautiful, from their wood wall to their cloud lights to their funky Scandinavian walnut chairs. Their cocktail menu is fantastic (I tried the Roberto Giovanni and the Scenes from an Italian Restaurant but I'm excited to work my way through the whole menu). Their small plates menu is great - the ricotta crostini is a must try. The staff are just such lovely people as well. Overall amazing experience! I think I found my new go to spot...

A truly unique family-run and distinctly Italian spot. Great for Italian import shopping throughout the day as the Ottawa Nicastros we know and love, transformed into a quant dining experience with quality family-run service with both great food and great drinks in a uniquely utilitarian atmosphere right in the bottega at night.
