Wendy's — Restaurant in Ottawa

I live out Town and I stopped here when I came to Ottawa. If I wasn’t in a hurry, I would have went somewhere else. We were very hungry so we stayed. I ordered from the machine and while my husband was waiting for the order. I went to the Family bathroom. Well, let me tell you how filthy it was. There was Paper towels, and toilet paper on the floor. You could tell the bathroom hasn’t been looked at for a while, very dirty. When I came out of the bathroom, I went to the counter and asked for the manager But the girl didn’t seem to know what I was talking about. She looked confused. Since she never fetched me the manager, I told her that the bathroom was disgusting and messy she nodded and walked away. The whole staff was in the kitchen, laughing screaming must’ve been like five of them. They did nothing just hung around and served drive-through. After being served, I went to the Drink fountain and the counter next to it was filthy dirty. Even the floor was covered in garbage smashed, french fries wrappers receipts under the tables even in the entrance there was garbage there. The tables had garbage on them as well very disgusting atmosphere, but the staff is in the kitchen, not even paying attention and not caring how customers love walking in this restaurant and it’s filthy. Disgusting garbage everywhere And the staff is careless. I’m not sure if I want to go there again because eating and disgusting restaurants is not a great invitation for customers to stay. I hope this Review get the attention of the owner or manager because you need to talk to your staff for this loitering and not even paying attention to this restaurant. Would like to state that the male who took our order went above and beyond. Especially given the circumstances. We arrived as a family of 5 (four adults, one child) placed our order and were told that they were out of French fries/the “French fry machine was broken”. We changed our order knowing that, agreed that we were okay with no fries. But instead a sour cream and chive potato, and an order of chili cheese nachos.. Paid for our order, while we were waiting for our dine in order, we were then notified that there were no potatoes left. Then an argument broke out between staff, we were then told there was one potato left, so fine. We continued to wait for our order, part of which included a 5 piece chicken strip and a spicy chicken burger. Well, after more arguments between staff in the food prep area, a man walked in the back, dressed in a Popeyes uniform. More arguments. We were then told that they were “sold out of chicken” so could not fulfill our order because chicken strips and the spicy chicken weren’t available. This took up a solid 20-30 minutes of our time. Again, the person who took our order was wonderful, very apologetic. We reassured him that this was not his fault, as we watched him be spoken to in a very condescending way from kitchen staff. We ended up having to ask for a full refund, and go elsewhere. The rest of our meals had been prepared and placed on a tray and that is when we found out about the chicken. Yes, things happen. However the way that we were treated- “just pick something else sort of attitude” and knowing the already prepared food would likely be wasted due to customizations, the lack of empathy, like we as paying customers were the problem left a very sour feeling for my family. I decided to go here after work because I was craving for hamburger due to my pregnancy. I told the cashier NOT to add salt on my fries. I don’t know the cashier name but she have short curly hair and I don’t remember if she wear eye glasses. She said I have to wait for my fries which I did.. Few minutes later, she brought my fries and what do you know, there was salt all over my fries. I couldn’t eat all my fries. Before i leave, I told the same cashier that there was salt added to my fries even though I requested not to. I was being really understanding and polite when I said this to her because I know people make mistakes. She immediately got offensive, kept interrupting and repeats herself that there were no salt. She says she didn’t add any and kept denying it. I showed her the fries! I even scrape a bunch off with my finger and showed it to her. I can clearly see from her face that she didn’t care. This kid needs to learn to respect others and listen before she speak. She’s very disrespectful and I never met someone like her. I’m amazed with her attitude and how completely ignorant she is. I’m not asking for new fries. I just wanted to point out that there was salt on my fries when I specifically asked not to add salt. Some of us are careful with what we put in our food due to health reason. I told the manager but I don’t think he’ll do anything about her attitude and how unprofessional she behaved.
