Ottawa, you gotta eat here! As Guy Fieri would say, "Take a road rockin' trip down to Flavortown, right here in Ottawa!"
The “Wiches Cauldron Sandwich Shoppe”, owned by local chef Craig Beaudry and his wife Monique, is “the” hot spot in the Ottawa West suburb of Stittsville.
Take the Carp Road, go south off the Queensway Highway, and - “abracadabra” you’ll see it on your left.
From the standard sandwich offerings, the supper meal Grab & Go’s, the creative Friday food boxes (love them - it’s like Xmas every week), the holiday “put-it-all-together-at-home” kits, the magical soups, the fresh bread, or the mouth-watering desserts - the quality, creativity, wizardry and love that goes into the menu will simply enchant you.
Sand-wiches? How does this sound - Roasted Chicken and Salami with Roasted Garlic Mayonnaise, Tomato, Mozzarella, Spring Greens and a balsamic drizzle? My mouth is watering just typing it out.
Come try one of the daily soups (from butternut squash soup, carrot apple ginger, bacon chowder, roasted red pepper and goat cheese, white chicken chili with jalapeños cheddar, red pepper, sweet potato apple & rosemary, cauliflower apple puree, tex-mex pulled pork chili, and so many more.
Find out what this Friday’s surprise box is (charcuterie, tacos, pulled pork, Italian, etc.) and get some wine too! Oh, you have to try the orzo-pasta salad with roasted corn and red onion in a chipotle lime – fantastic!
And, it’s all done with humour too. It’s clear that Craig, Monique and the staff love what they do and bring that fun to work every day…like the surprise mini cauldron giveaway. If you find one in your bag, it can be traded in for a free cup of soup or sweet treat! If they have the tiramisu dessert, grab a coven (13) for all the witches you know.
It’s bewitching! You’re gonna love eating here!

Read moreWell my wife found this place on a Facebook group. She has mentioned it before how people were raving about this food truck. When she told me it was called 'wiches Cauldron I was thinking Witches. When we got there I realized it was a sandwich place. I was excited, I love sandwiches, especially different types of recipes and topping. Well this place had a great deli sandwich the trucker. Check out my pic! The sandwich came a small cup of your choice of soup. Today they had 3 cheese broccoli and a red pepper chicken soup, I took the broccoli and was excellent.
I spoke with the chef Craig Beaudry and he said they change the menu for the sandwich every two weeks. Soup is usually daily. I believe there were 4 or 5 kinds. My wife had the vegetarian but added chicken, chefs recommendation, she was pleased. My sons shared a grilled cheese and ham. They ate it all and wanted some of mine. I am so happy there are finally places like...
