Turtle Jack's Muskoka Grill Parry Sound — Restaurant in Parry Sound

Not the experience we know and love from Turtle Jack's. This was our first time at this location, but are not new to Turtle Jack's. They have a beautiful location on the water and sitting outside is likely a nicer experience than indoor. The interior is awful and it looks nothing like the interior of other locations. The real doenfall of this experience was with the server. She was lovely, but I think possibly inexperienced, which made for such a horrible experience. I need gluten free and I had narrowed my selection down to two dishes that showed they had gluten free options available. I asked the server how the dishes were presented when they were gluten free/what changes were made. She told me they were served as described in the menu. She didn't check with anyone and she said it confidently. I placed my order and let her know about another allergy. We were a party of four (two adults, 2 kids). One adult meal and one kid meal came out first. I advised them to eat while their's were hot when it became apparent that the other two meals were not ready. A few minutes later the other two meals arrived. The one meal had to be sent right back as the allergen was on the plate. The gluten free meal was nothing like described in the menu. Clearly, if gluten free is chosen, the kitchen makes changes. My frustration is that we specifically asked this and were told the meal would be served as late in the menu. We would have ordered differently if we had known. We will not go back to this location. If you have food allergies or intolerances, I would advise you speak to the manager and/or chef directly at this location...

"We can't tell you how long the wait is..." is all you will hear followed by the promise of a phone call which may or may not come. We waited for an hour on a park bench across the street until deciding to go and check on how much longer it might be (for a table of 7 including two smaller children). Only then did we find out they claimed to have called and the manager said some one answered and hung up, which was a flat out lie, so they gave away our table. I asked them to call my number in front of me and on their phone it said "out of service area."  No one had the idea to dial a 1 in front of the number? Annoying, but okay things happen. We decided to split our party up into two tables. Since we had already waited so long. A few of us ordered tacos, I ordered chicken tacos. The waitress came and said "Chicken tacos, no guac." Not what I ordered, so I said probably the other table. The other table handled the food and literally picked through it with their fingers as he ordered fish tacos. They took it away. And a few minutes came back to my table saying that was my order. Okay, well I didn't specify no guac, but whatever, it's okay I'll wait for a new one to be made. They brought me the same one the other table had fingered through, that had made multiple trips around, now with guac slapped on top. The whole plate was a mess. I didn't even bother to complain and just ate it, but come on that's disgusting and lazy to not make a fresh one. Just tell people it's going to be 45-60 minute wait, not "we can't say how long" and make fresh food. Not...

Dirty, disorganized, bugs everywhere!!!!

Customer service was awful. Noone cleared our appetizer plates when our mains were delivered so we had no room on our table. No water was delivered. Food was okay. Upon arriving,  we asked for a patio seat but the hostess said we had to wait on the waitlist which was fine... but we asked what the estimated wait time was to which she said, "I'm not sure. There is no estimated time." We eventually got a call that our table was ready. Upon arrival,  we sat down and there were 4 spider webs within 2 meters of our seat and over 7 bugs on the inside window. Spiders were crawling on the wall that our table was up against. Place is a disaster. Never have I ever been to a restaurant with this many flies and spiders everywhere. How does noone clean these bugs and webs? What a turnoff! At the end, the waitress stood right beside our table as we were discussing payment rather than giving us time to pay our bill which was also awkward and uncomfortable.  I do not recommend. Super disappointed as I had high hopes for this place.
