Coutts Coffee Roastery & Cafe — Restaurant in Perth

TL:DR - owner is a jerk, they seem to just care about the $ - What happened: I knew this place was new so I went to check it out but just had lunch so wasn't hungry but asked for some water, no problem, so far so good. I looked around and see they have another room, check it out, they have yet another so there's lots of places to sit inside. They also have a nice new patio on the Tay. It wasn't busy so I asked about the history because I knew the company wasn't new in town but this location is, they explain, all good. I also asked a bit about the menu etc, one weekly item isn't priced which is annoying but I guess the owner was sitting there watching me the whole time, she comes up to me and asks me in an aggressive and threatening way "why are you asking all these questions?!? Who are you? Who are you with, why are you here? If you want up know about my store then why wouldn't you ask me about it directly?!?" Shocked and surprised I tried to explain that I'm just a local customer, I'm not "with anyone" and she says "well you didn't buy anything! What are you doing here? Where are you from?!?" To be fair, I at least wasn't asked to leave, but again I explained that I'm just checking the place out because i hadn't been there before, she storms off and a man who was with her started trying to sell me their second location, when I said no he was telling me that there are lots of loans and grant programs available but after the interrogation they gave me there's no way I'm interested in their business at all. I recently spent the day in Perth and we stopped at Coutts for lunch. I order a sandwich and a Italian soda for lunch, paid and waited for my beverage before sitting. After paying I was told the flavour I ordered was not available, the server went ahead and made another flavour and said "This is my favorite". As a paying customer I would of appreciate being told it was unavailable and don't assume your favorite is one I would like, which I didn't. I told the server I would take a bottle water instead. "Fine!" was the reply. I then had to mention that there was a price difference. "That's not a problem!" was the reply. I said to the server "the price for the water is less than the Italian soda and I want a refund for the difference. With a big huff she made the refund. Worst customer service ever. If we are in Perth and in need of a coffee, Coutts is the place to go. They have a great variety of coffee products and other beverages. While limited in their "menu" the food is always good. Also, it is pretty amazing how fast we can get in and out of Coutts when we are just there for beverages. Compared to some of the typical "chain" places around, Coutts is super fast serving up a hot mug of Java. If you are looking to sit and relax, Coutts also has a fantastic location with lots of seating options. We particularly like sitting on the patio (which is right along the river) during the summer.
