Worst service I have ever had in a restaurant!!
I made reservations for 6 of us girls from aqua fit my second time taking this group and it will be our last !! Once we got seated and given menus it was like we didn't exist!! At least 20 mins wait no water no coffee!! No I'm Busy will be right with you !! Nothing not even a glance as she walked by our table !!
She cleared tables and reset them right beside us while no one was waiting to come in !! While not even asking us if we wanted drinks !!
She Waited on the table of two that arrived after us !! They had their drinks and food before she even came to take our order !!
When she did come she was rude said "ok what do you want " with a look like hurry up I don't want to be at your table!! When the bills came one lady was charged an extra $1.50 for multi grain toast and wasn't told at the time of ordering it would cost more !!
I used to live in the neighbourhood and have been going to Copper Spoons since it open !! For breakfast and lunch !! Especially during Covid at the tables outside to support them !!
I have always enjoyed the very friendly service and delicious food and highly recommended to family and friends !!
But Not after that last experience will I ever go back but will tell the same family and friends not to bother going either !! Also the girls from the Y said they won't be going back and we will pass on the bad experience !!
I was so disappointed and embarrassed that I had talked so highly of this little neighbourhood restaurant!! So sad !!
No excuse for that...

Eggs were fluffy as they should be scrambled into a variety of meat packing skillet which was fantastic to the taste. It got real busy after our order hit the table, so we forgave that we didn't get much time spent with any staff to chat, but they were efficient from what I saw and most were clearly regulars. We'd like to be but we have to be honest, packed halls just don't suit us much but take that as a hint, it's well worth the price and wait. Makes me wonder why people trust chains anymore when you got godly SMB right in your backyard, literally.
The place itself is cozy, and they have interested decorations for those with wandering eyes. I not sure if they have an outdoor patio for extended seating, it wasn't really opened when I stopped by; so make sure to watch their rush hour, as you could plan for a long wait (a well worth the long wait in my opinion).
I expect to be back at some point, and I truly can't wait to try their lunch if their breakfast is anything to go by. My pics didn't turn out that great, so I going to pass uploading any for now, trust other reviewers for that. Parking on the street or the lot down the road at the old Canoe museum is where I parked.
I do wish to know though - is there a story behind the name? Didn't really see much copper when I was dining in, to be fair I didn't get really get a detailed look at everything, mostly just what was around my eye where I sat. Cheers and...
Read moreI am reviewing "Copper Spoons" somewhat reluctantly. Reluctant because once you find this hidden "Gem," we will end up waiting for a table when we go there. That is OK because this restaurant deserves to be a huge success and your go to place for breakfast or lunch. I am a vegetarian and have a hard time finding a breakfast place that I wouldn't hesitate to go back to. I had the "Vegetarian Skillet" and my partner had the "Sunrise Special" which is served between 7 - 10 am. It came with 2 eggs, hashbrowns, toast, (Rye is 50 cents extra), choice of bacon, sausage links or turkey bacon, PLUS coffee or tea. This Special was only $6.99. Try getting all of that elsewhere!. The portions were generous and hot. Our server was Jess who was very friendly and prompt. I love finding restaurants that are unique and "Cooper Spoons" is unique. Cooper Spoons is in a residential area and I would bet that most people drive right by it and don't realize that they just passed a great little restaurant. It is small and quaint, but very cozy. A real friendly place. Looking forward to being a "regular" patron. Thank you for the great food and service. Wishing you great success. When Jess brought us our bill, she also gave us a complimentary, still hot, freshly baked old-fashioned cinnamon...
