Showed up with a group for people to celebrate our Grandma's birthday. Even helped the staff setup seating because they hadn't prepared anything for our group (which we called well in advance about).
Ended up being the very last person served with my food which had been sitting on the heating lamp for almost 50 mins. My food was dried out and plate was so hot they just stuck a second plate under it. Veggies were soggy.
Most of our group had finished eating, some of which arrived 20-30mins late and got served and finished eating before my food got to me.
After all this, even getting my bill to leave took almost another 30mins and my server came to me dead last. Mind you I would've more understanding about this had the place been busy.
Outside our group the entire time we were there, there was maybe 2-3 other couples that came and went.
Either our server was racist or the world's worst server. Probably the worst experience my wife and I have experienced in Peterborough.
The incident took place Feb 10 around 2pm was when our reservation was set. To elaborate more, we did address the incident with your manager and he acknowledged and apologized for what happened. You can definitely get all the details from him.
The fact that I was the only person of colour is what eluded me to believe the server was possibly racist, because everyone else at my table was served. So what would you have me believe Todd? That she served everyone at my table and forgot my food ? Even the people who arrived after me ?
I recognize you nor your entire business may not be under the same belief but sometimes you can hire people who may show their beliefs in very subtle way to customers.
Your manager offered a voucher to come back and show us the restaurant does not tolerate this sorta behavior but we have not been back since the incident.
To note we've been here many times and I would agree with you I would never have given you anything lower than a 4 prior to this incident. I've always enjoyed my experience here up until the one I left...

Our waitress Ellen Lee came over and said she will take our drink order and the other table who came in about ten minutes after us their drink order. We all ordered our drinks (3 of us) she goes over to the table who came in after and takes their full order. Then after another 10 minutes she finally comes over and takes our food order. Service was super slow. While waiting for our food. The manager went to he table next to us. We over heard them telling the manager they received a chunky glass of milk for their child. The manager explain we all make mistakes which is right ! No one is perfect! Then our waitress (Ellen) went over and told them that the manger doesn’t think their coming back and she messed up their order so she was paying for it out of her own pocket. I’m not sure about anyone else. But you just don’t guilt customers into coming back. We all couldn’t believe she said that.
After a while our food finally came, she brought two of us our meal and not the third. She said she would be right back so we both waited until we all had our food to eat together. 10 minutes went by. Our waitress was helping other tables and didn’t bring out her food !! Finally the manager brought our her plate of food. And by then. We already started eating.
For my first time there. I can’t say I’ll be back anytime to soon. I was told this was the best breakfast place in Peterborough. From working in customer service. I’d be embarrassed to be the waitress. She definitely needs to be retrained and learn not to guilt customers into...
Read moreI was there this past weekend with a large group. Upon entering, an older lady (waitress) seemed extremely annoyed with our group as soo as we walked through the door. When I asked politely and gave a suggestion she was very rude and disrespectful with her response. I understand that it was a very busy place, but her customer service was non existant. Lucky enough, my family was served by Barbara, who apologized for her colleagues unacceptable behavior. At one point, the rude waitress was taking orders from other members of our group, she seemed annoyed to the point where she did not complete taking orders. We had to ask another gentleman to come finish and take the order. I was even applauded that she was even yelling at our kids to pick up a crayon that was dropped. Upon leaving the restaurant I heard her complaing to other customers about our group. That was uncalled for and rude. Her lake of customer service and respect was appalling. To have other waiters/waitresses apologize for her behavior and unacceptable comments is disgusting. Her customer service skills are non-existent.
The food was ok. I ordered a breakfast meal with one egg and the portion of my scrambled egg was SO small, as if it was cut in half. The kids enjoyed there breakfast and I was happy with Barbara as I knew she was working hard to get orders in, at such a busy time.
