The absolute worst experience I've had at this Swiss Chalet location in all the years that I've been a patronizing customer. My family and I have come to this location for over 15 years, and the quality has gone downhill for the past while. We arrived at around 7:30 PM and were seated, then ordered drinks. The dining room was empty with only 5 tables seated - our included. We ordered a double leg dinner with regular fries and a quarter white dinner with sweet potato fries - both with a chalet salad. The salad dressing was so sweet that you could've used it as molasses for a cake. We encountered some issues with our server - Our waitress was ignorant, lacked customer service skills and didn't do anything to provide a good experience. Apparently, it's fine to let customers sit for nearly an hour without at least providing some napkins or ''checking in to see if everything's all right?''. When our food arrived - it was already disappointing. Sweet potato fries are pre-portioned and not worth the menu price - If I wanted ''pre-portioned'' food, I'd go to a soup kitchen, not Swiss Chalet. When the Manager had come to remedy the issue - they were defensive, provided corporate policy excuses and quickly brushes us off in hopes of us being satisfied. The manager claimed the ''Kitchen was backed up in orders'' when we asked to remedy our food. Despite only 5 tables being seated - and the takeout area was empty (we saw when we walked in) they continued pressing the excuse of a backup in orders. I can understand a kitchen backup if they had the entire dining room filled, but otherwise, this was a poor excuse. Truly a dissatisfying experience.

Walked in on a Friday night at apx 6:30pm. The restaurant was mostly empty with a few workers. We waited apx 5 mins to be seated with staff walking by towards the kitchen and not acknowledging us. Finally, we were seated with an apology for waiting. The waitress took a while to come over after we were seated. We decided to order all our food at once since it seemed like wait times would be long. It took 10 mins to get our drinks, and after another 15 mins, we asked where our garlic loaf was. A different server apologized and brought it out a few minutes later, and it seemed like it was cooked in the microwave. More people started coming into the restaurant and waited a while to be seated as well. Later, the waitress came out to say they had run out of wings. Our food came a short while later which tasted good. I guess they ran out of serving bowls for the gravy because it came in a take out bowl. Also, no water/finger bowls were given at the end. Our waitress came over and said she was sorry for all the waiting and running out of wings. They ended up taking the app off the bill without us asking. After we finished our meal, the plates sat for apx 20 mins, and our waitress was MIA. We ended up calling someone else over who got our waitress from the back. She came with the bill, and we also noticed our drinks were taken off the bill too (also without us asking). Mains were good, but this last visit spoiled it for us, and we will not be back. We ended up leaving at 8 pm...

My family of four walked into the restaurant at 830pm. The sign clearly has hours posted of 11:30am to 10:00pm. Pic below. We waited for someone to come to the host stand for approx. 4 minutes (no worries there). When a server came out from the kitchen she said sorry we are closed. I said its 8:34 only. She said yes we close at 9pm and need to clean to be done at 9 but if we want take out is open until 10pm. I asked if I could have head offices number. She said sorry she doesnt have any numbers. Then said just hold on. A minute later someone else came out of kitchen and said Can I help you. I said oh I am just waiting on a number. She said yes can I help you I dont have any number to give just our store number. I said no thats ok. I asked her to confirm that they are store 1737. She said yup. I said ok. Just then 3 other guests came into the restaurant. She immediately told them sorry we are closed. Take out is open. They said the same thing being 8:36 or so at that time. She said ya we dont allow guests past 8:30 so we can close at 9:00. I mentioned the sign actually says 10:00pm. She said well its been 9:00 for two years, they havent changed it yet. Her tone and attitude were rude. If a restaurant closes at 9pm (no more guests) at 8:34 they should be taking guests. Especially since the kitchen is open. Completely dissatisfied.

Just to be clear, this 1 start review is for the take out experience and does not reflect dining in or delivery from this location. I went to this location on Saturday, September 27th, 2025 at 6:59pm and made almost a $90 order for takeout. As I sat and waited for about 25 minutes they ended up giving my order to the wrong person who left with my order. After some time they returned, after realizing he received the wrong order....when he brought it back they offered an apology and offer to comp him, which he declined. They took my order in the back and they gave him his correct order. I waited a bit to see what they were doing with my order in the back cause I can see into the kitchen. After 10 minutes I got up and asked them about my order and asked the brown woman with a white blouse if they gave my order to that man and she said yes they did in error. I told her I'm not comfortable with my order being taken out and brought back and she agreed and said they will make a new order. After waiting 5 more minutes she comes to me and says they ran out of ribs so they could not complete my order. I think that was total BS, its only 7:30pm, how can Swiss Chalet be "out" of ribs.....nevertheless I am sure she just wanted me do a refund , which I did. Listen, mistakes happen and I get that and I am not a callous person I usually feel sympathy when I feel a genuine mistake has been made but what really pissed me off the most and why I am making this review was although she did make an apology she did not offer any compensation, zero, nothing, not even a desert...she offer it to the gentleman who she gave my order to but not me, do you see what's wrong here? This tells me she has no class at all and lacks the skills how to deal with customer service when things go wrong. If Swiss Chalet managers are reading this, I truly believe she needs to be re-trained how to deal with customers when they make an error...after a 40 minute fiasco, I was not happy and left feeling very angry that she made no effort to make me feel good. I will not be coming back to this particular location...
