My boyfriend and I decided to book the fondue under the stars experience for Valentines Day weekend. We prepaid through the Open Table app. However, a few days later, we realized we had to change the date of our reservation. We were instructed by the restaurant that we had to cancel our reservation and then rebook. Basically we paid for our reservation twice but we were told that we would receive our refund within 24 hours. That did not happen.
We followed up with the restaurant and were told we were misinformed and that refunds took up to 5-7 days. That did not happen.
We followed up again and were told Open Table would refund us, but it was entirely up to them when that would happen. They said they would call open table and then call or email us back. That did not happen.
After following up yet again, I was told that the GM would phone or email us about this he was the only one who could issue the refund. It has been a few days since I last contacted the restaurant, and again, they have not followed up as promised. I am extremely frustrated as this had taken over 2 weeks now, and it seems as though no one really knows what is going on.
Also, when we did actually go to the fondue night we had booked, it was a subpar experience for us. We loved the privacy of the igloo and the attentiveness of our server but were disappointed by the food. The salads were okay, but the cheese fondue was disappointing. There was no meat included in our meal (definitely more of an appetizer) and the cheese flavor was much too strong for me (think old moldy cheese strong) so I ended up skipping the "dinner" portion as I was told no substitutions / alterations could be made. Also, the mushrooms and potatoes served with the cheese fondue were ice cold in the center. The only saving grace of the dinner was the chocolate fondue, which... let's be honest... would be pretty hard to screw up.
I am very frustrated with this location. I have been to many brewhouse locations and have never had any issues. I won't be returning to this...

On Christmas Day it was listed online for a few weeks in advanced that this location was going to be open. My family and I had recently moved too Edmonton in the summer and decided making a big xmas dinner for ourselves wasn't really worth it so we looked for places open on Christmas and made plans to come here.
Here comes the rudest manager at a Canadian Brewhouse I have ever met.
We got here with more than enough time to be seated, eat what should of been a nice dinner and gone well before closing. After left standing at the lobby for 5 or so minutes the manager finally came over and we were greeted with a very abrupt "if you don't have a reservation we can't help you" and he tried to walk away. I said to him what do you mean that wasn't stated anywhere online. I was then responded with a "It's CHRISTMAS, what did you expect?" With a extremely ignorant look on this man's face.
Now heated, I replied "I expected if you said you are open you should be frickn open! You guys should have had this figured out!" Too which i got a sarcastic "tsh yeah me too" and he walked away.
Never have I witnessed a manager so rude to customers, the worst part was there was literally no customers in this restaurant at the time either and while sitting in the parking lot i watched another 8 or so people get turned away. It was extremely clear he just didn't want to serve anyone and seemed annoyed to have to work the holiday.
I had been to this location several times in the past and this has honestly put a sour taste in my mouth about this restaurant franchise as a whole, I'd had even been a secret customer previously even giving a great review.
This manager definitely needs to figure his stuff out if he intends to treat...

The waitress did not listen to me when I was placing my order, I ordered a steak sandwich and asked to make sure the Garlic toast was on the side of the plate that did not happen. When I went to pay the bill for me and I my date I did not leave a tip for her. The waitress the asked me why I did not tip her I tried to explain to her that I could not afford one but she stood the on from my family and friends throwing a temper tantrum I could not believe it. She did not leave the table until she got a tip from someone who I was with. I have never been demanded to leave her a tip as she made great tips from the others that we my partner where with. I Trying to tell explain to this waitress that I was on a fixed income but that did not happen. To the waitress that served our table tonight where we were celebrating two birthdays tonight the one with the Black Forest cake. I want to let you know from someone who was once in your profession that I would have never demanded that a patron give me a tip. It is also not mandatory to leave you a tip too. If want to have a temper tantrum like a two year and yes thatโs how you behaved tonight that if I was your boss Iโd reprimand you or my other option is I would have relieved you of your duties and given you your pink slip. Just a side note not everyone can afford to leave a tip and you should have never begged for one like you did this evening on Sunday March 12, 2023. You sucked that you should know and learn to be much more professional as well and need to change you attitude as well. I personally donโt know if Iโll return to the Manning location again.
