Very disappointed in the owner’s behaviour. I discovered her place this year and that she makes organic, gluten-free and vegan options (according to her). I came last week and there were no croissants ready so came today! I had looked forward to a treat on the last day of the year. Got out of bed and went straight there. Ordered 2 chocolate organic gluten-free vegan croissants (as she confirmed). Had a reaction shortly after. When I asked the ingredients again, she got really defensive and said she did not make them! That was a real shocker for me as my understanding was that she did. I asked the list and she told me I don’t want to serve you if you have reactions. I asked again for the ingredients and she answered there are chemicals in it, I do not make them and that yes, there was guar gum and hung up! Very disappointed in the lack of transparency and customer service. Wish her well. I know she shared in the past some issues with clients, but my intention was only to ask so that I know what I was reacting to. She called me back after she hung up and said something different. She read me the list. This time no mention of guar gum but did not know if was organic or had GMOs but insisted she worked with organic products (yet the croissants in the end were not made by her and she kept changing her narrative). I told her that it’s very irresponsible to act like this with people’s health and to change what you say and be vague about something...
Read moreUsually I'm very happy with the vegan croissants, chocolatines & danishes, so I ordered two vegan pumpkin pies for Thanksgiving. When I arrived to pick them up, as usual the owner was frazzled trying to serve the growing line-up of clients. She had two people "helping" in the kitchen, but I think she should really invest in hiring a cashier because it is always so slow.
I waited more than 15 minutes to pick up the pies I had reserved and when the owner gave them to me at the cash I mentioned that the color seemed quite dark and was not what I was expecting. She said she had almost 30 pies to bake and they were beautiful pumpkin pies. Not wanting to make a fuss, I took my pies (which she had put in boxes behind the counter), paid $69.75 for two pies ($25.95 each) and 3 danishes ($5.95 each) and left.
I dropped off a pie for a friend and when I got home and opened the box I was very disappointed to see that she had given me a very burnt pie (see photo). I cut it and tried the least burnt side and was even more disappointed in the taste. It was really not edible. Even my husband who will eat almost anything could not get past his first bite.
I don't mind paying a premium for quality vegan products, but when the owner sells me pies that were clearly burnt, for $25.95 each, I find this is really abusive. I'm not sure I'll...
Read moreIf only I could give negative or 0 star, I would lol. And this is my very first review I have done in my life, I just had to; to make everyone aware!!! The owner Lucie is a LIAR!!! She advertises that her pastries are vegan but they are not, I had a reaction after eating them. She said the pastries I bought were vegan/dairy free. Please don’t believe this lady, she’s such a liar. Also, I bought a small carrot cake that she said was vegan for 7$, I had reaction after eating that. After a week, I saw the same cake at Costco which was obviously not vegan, I knew that it was the same cake because of the size, colour, decoration, and taste (I asked my bf who’s not vegan to try the carrot cake from costco, he said that they tasted the same, bc he also tried the one I bought from her). Costco was selling the whole container for 9$ and there were 6pcs of carrot cakes inside lol, and this lady was selling 7$ a piece, on top of that she advertised it vegan and she told me she made it herself. I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE. PLEASE BE CAREFUL EVERYONE Stop deceiving people Lucie, some people might have an anaphylactic reaction after eating the pastries that you are selling, please stop your false advertisement. I’ll...
