I went for the first time tonight, after having heard great things about this place. Parking just in front, so that was a plus; the entrance, style, decor and even a fireplace give this place a nice style. Gray variety on the menu, anyone can find something the would like in this menu and everything looks great! We had the gnocchi with truffle and you can feel that the gnocchis are homemade, the sauce was amazing. Escargots as a starter which were some of the best ones I’ve had in Quebec, and the rabbit on the table d’hote was also great, the sauce was really tasty and the mix with the duck gnocchis is a good combination The wine is a fair price (100-120% markup from market price). And our host and who I assume was the manager or even owner was also great. The reason why this rating is 3 stars and not 5 is because there was a hair in my escargots plate, I realized when I had to pull it out of my mouth on my one to last one (at least I didn’t waste the whole plate, they were great so far) ( long thin hair, so it wasn’t mine before some comments reply that.) I let the waitress know and she just said “sorry about that” but nothing was done about the situation. I get that accidents happen and these things could happen but the most important part is how the situation is dealt with in this scenarios. I would go back, great food...

For a restaurant of this price point, I found the service and guest experience quite mediocre. Let me list you a few reasons why:

  1. There was no hostess or anyone greeting us at the door. I was waiting there for 5 minutes until I had to wave down a server and ask if where I was standing was in fact the hostess stand.

  2. The table d'hôte menu did list enough information regarding the choices. The server was left having to explain and present too much information that left the guest forgetting what was presented. The presentation of missing table d'hote information took approximately 2 whole minutes.

  3. When asked if we'd like anything to drink, we responded yes, and requested 2 glasses of wine. The wine took 15 minutes to arrive at the table.

  4. There was no check up done to ask if the food was to my liking after the first or second course of my table d'hote, only the main course.

  5. I was not offered another glass of wine.

  6. After finishing my coffee, 15 minutes elapsed and I was not asked if I wanted anything else or my bill. I had to to the bar inside (we were on the terasse) and the bartender had to go drag the server out from the kitchen where she was hanging out.

Having said this, the atmosphere was great and the food was...

Definitely a west island "spot". If you know, then you know.

Reviews seem great but... I'm not sure why the ratings are so high. For a restaurant that's been around for 27 years.... You'd think things would be seamless.

Service was ok.

Cocktails were weak and didn't have much choices. Wine, well, at least the wine selection was decent.

Every dish was subpar. Homemade gnocchi was decent, but scarce. Coconut shrimps were jumbo, but lacked on flavor. Boston salad was just off. Crab cakes were ok, but nothing extravagant.

Main from table d'hôte was the duck magret served with a sauce, only dish worth the money.

Chef's choice was the elk, just didn't deliver, meat was warm.

Every dish came on a plate hotter than the food! Just odd.

Brownie was cold but fresher than the stale choux pastry.

Overall experience was not pleasant for what the cost was. A lot better places for the price out there. Place was crammed...

Last night, for the first time, we brought our guest—my mother—to this restaurant. The ambiance was truly elegant and beautiful, and the staff were warm and friendly. However, unfortunately, there was no balance between the price of the dishes and their portion size and quality. The prices were extremely high while the portions were very small. You may find it hard to believe, but we were charged $40 for a pasta dish that amounted to barely five spoonfuls. At the end, when I raised my concern, instead of waiving the charge for that dish, they only reduced it by half. That being said, I must emphasize that the staff’s attitude was very respectful and friendly, which I truly appreciate. I sincerely hope that the restaurant management reads this message and understands that people work hard for every single dollar they earn. Therefore, you must ensure that the food served is reasonably proportionate to the price charged

Two of my colleagues and I recently had a wonderful lunch at le Gourmade restaurant in old Pointe-Claire. The restaurant is located in a historic house named Maison Demers-Portelance which was built around 1847. The restaurant is small but has a very comfortable, relaxing atmosphere. Our server was excellent, very congenial, and almost anticipated our requests. All three of us chose lunch off the daily menu. I chose an introductory salad and for my main dish, the organic salmon which was served with baby shrimp and brie cheese. Both dishes were excellent, in fact, this salmon dish was one of the most delicious I have ever tasted. We ended with coffee and dessert. This is one of the best restaurants I have tried on Montreal’s West Island and an absolute “most visit” if you are in the area.

What a cute restaurant! Love the old stone building. They have a cozy fireplace. We made reservations and were seated immediately. Krista was our waitress. She was fun and friendly. I had to get SOUPE À L'OIGNON GRATINÉE (french onion soup) so delicious. SAUMON ET ESTURGEON FUMÉS (smoked sturgeon and salmon) salmon was good, but I didn't like the sturgeon. The flesh is tougher than I prefer... GALETTES DE CRABE (crab cake) was meh. Hubby enjoyed it, but it was crispy outside but mushy inside... DUO DE MAGRET ET CUISSE DE CANARD CONFITE (duck confit and Magret) both are amazing. Delicious! I've never had magret, so it was great to try it the 1st time, and it was delicious! The town is very cute and on the river so there were many places along the water.
