Cute, very casual locale, giving fast food restaurant vibes. I went for the very first time as this is my daughters’ go-to dumpling place. I admit that the soup dumplings, were mouthwatering (literally) and delicious! You order the stuffing of your choice, and they are each filled with a broth, so that when you pop the dumpling into your mouth (you have to put the entire dumpling in) and bite down, you experience an explosion of flavours - so satisfying and so very delicious. They also offer fried dumplings that I did not have, but I believe those are more dry and do not contain the said broth so the bite is likely less exciting 🙂.
Their specialty is dumplings, so the majority of the menu is just that. They do have appetizers - we had the spicy cucumber (also excellent) and peanut butter noodles (very good flavour but they are served cold which is not my preference). We were a group of 11 and I have to say the service was great, very little wait time. In fact, it took us longer to make our choices then it was to get served. The restaurant has an open kitchen, so you are able to see the employees at work should you wish to - this is a positive for me. The staff is very friendly, not only the waitress, but the workers in the kitchen would look over and smile from time to time. They were even kind enough to allow us to bring our own birthday cake and kept it in the fridge for us. I definitely recommend and will be going back more often (maybe even try a different location as they have a few)! a couple of vegan...
Read moreI was so excited to try Sammi & Soupe Dumpling since it was so hyped up. Honestly, It was decent but not as good as the reviews make it out to be. We ordered the pork peanut butter dumplings (best dish we had! Hot and perfect amount of sauce. Not too sweet), pork & coriander Xiao Long Bao (good, however the dough on top was too hard and as it cooled, it just kept getting harder) pork&chive fried dumplings (they tasted good) and the shrimp pizza dumpling (absolutely terrible! Mustard on dumplings? Especially on shrimp dumplings?). That last one totally threw us off and tasted weird. I wish they would’ve put that in the description, as we wouldn’t have ordered it. We paid $27 each and while the price is not terrible, the dumplings aren’t very big, I would happily go downtown to eat dumplings at a more authentic restaurant and better bang for our $. Give it a try and you...

i get that it’s only been open a short while, but no one seemed to actually be managing the place. felt sorry for the two trying to keep up and do all the serving, expediting/running and bussing today at lunch. one seemed to have no restaurant experience at all.
two hours for two orders of steamed dumplings— and then giving up on the third order of fried that never showed, is wild.
no communication between FoH staff. drinks being delivered twice. orders taken on iPads then written out and then also entered into pos system? takeout orders being prioritized before dining room w diners looking on in disbelief? warm drinks. no spoons.
not sure if the model driving all the recent expansion is franchisees or still owned by the original Qing Hua folks… but either way this place doesn’t look well-supported at...
