I’m an avid coffee shop drinker. I visited every little coffee shops in the west island, lol. I would say VR is the best one. You know it’s like the central perk in the comedy show friends. That little charm in your neighbourhood where guests and staffs and owner seem like old friends knew each other for a long time. think I come here almost every morning after school drop-off. The coffee is the number one reason or course, just a perfect combination. I always get oatmilk latte and their oatmilk is one of the best. They dont use that storebought oatmilk that taste oat a lot. The cakes and cookies are out of the world. My favorites are the birthday cookies and carrot cake. Also dont miss the croissants every saturday. Last thing but also very important why I love this coffee so much, the staffs, the guests, the atmosphere. Everyone is welcoming especially the lovely sisters who own the place. Staffs speak french but dont give you the attitude if you dont speak french. I since moved out of Canada and will treasure the memories of this place not...
Read moreAfter recommendations from our local NextDoor areas (Dorval/Pointe-Claire), I visited Victor Rose Espresso Bar. I was on the lookout for Australian-level coffee making quality.
I selected a mochaccino along with a squash & blueberry ‘’bread’’ piece for wifey, and I chose a large flat white. The owner (I believe) explained me the difference between their latté, flat white and Gina’s flat white (a large flat white). She also mentioned to me the origins of the coffee beans (British Colombia) after I mentioned a nice rich taste of double roasting.
My large flat white was rich and intense. The core taste was the double roasted beans, as expected, and it was complemented by a nice warm milk (just the right amount).
Wifey’s feedback: it was very good. She rarely says that in Canada. She is Australian and used to Aussie coffee quality.
I would highly recommend it and we will...
Read moreMy daughter loves this place! Cool little nook for hot chocolate and breakfast treats - croissants, banana breads, cookies.. kid treat heaven. The owners and young staff really get customer service, smile often, and engage kids even if a bit shy. The cafe regulars are warm and friendly even to strangers and seem to know the owners and staff pretty well. Baked goods are really fresh. The coffee options are full. Pricing as expected.
A bit shocked the venue is not overrun with cyclists - the Lakeshore road cycling route is right next to this. So is the village skating rink across the street.
Seating is limited but you can always spill over to the outdoor seating or park across the street. But I would suggest to sit indoors and enjoy a book. There are some options on the back wall.
Daughter also loved that she can reach everything in the...
