We had a great last-minute dinner party at home, and it turned out AWESOME!🥳
We had the quests who never tried Korean food before, and I thought it would be a good idea to serve some appetizers for Korean food and decided to order dishes from here.
First up, the fried chicken with soy honey glazed, It was tangy, sweet, and packed flavors. It was the crowd's pleasure! 😄
Kimbob - Ordered 3 flavors ( Beef, veggies, and spicy pork). They are all delicious, but my favorite kimbob was spicy pork. You should give it a try. 😄
Then came the galbi ( braised short beef rib) tender slices of marinated beef short rib that were so juicy. 😋
And let's not forget about the bulgogi (Marinated with Korean BBQ sauce with thinly sliced beef) - I ordered them ready to cook package so it was nice to serve our guests the hot meat on the spot. Too bad that I don’t have pictures of bulgogi, but They are yummy with rice and kimchi ( kimchi and rice come with a braised short beef ribs dish). The owner also sent us some veggies to stir-fry with the meat as well.
If you're in the mood for a taste of Korean foods or something different for your gathering or party, I would recommend...
Read moreThere is no Korean restaurant in the Lower Mainland I have found that competes with Goru Goru Food (고루고루) on taste and price. It's a small deli (meaning its best to takeout) that delivers through Ubereats or you can pick up in Poco at 3270 Coast Meridian. They used to be in the Henderson Mall in Coquitlam. The absolute best 제육덮밥 (Spicy Pork with Rice) I have ever had and that's after 5 years living in Korea. Their 떡볶이 (Spicy Rice Noodle) is exactly what you would get from a rated food truck in Seoul and not over priced like many in Canada.
The storefront looks unassuming but there is magic in the food and lots of pre-made frozen options available as well. And the prices are more than...
Read moreOrdered three kimbaps - chili pepper & kimchi, bulgogi and regular. Best kimbaps especially the chili pepper & kimchi which is not commonly found at restaurants. They were made to order, making the seaweed crispy even though it was brushed with sesame oil. The rice was well seasoned and cooked perfectly. It was Chuseok so they had fresh made songpyeon. Korean friends confirmed that this was legit tteok, soft and chewy. Picked up a jar of chonggak kimchi to try also. Radishes had a nice crunch when biting into it and were pickled just enough. Spicy and sweet with notes of saltiness...
