Excellent tasting food. The Calamari could have been deep fried a little longer with more salt added. The fried rice is very tasty. Everything else is excellent. The price is right, and the lady owner is very courteous. Poor cashier girl was saying sorry to everyone as the restaurant was backlogged with orders. Skip the dishes driver picked up 10 dishes before I got my 5. All in all, the food was fresh n tasty. I had to give the 10% off to cash sales as a tip to the cashier. She was very courteous and apologetic to all the customers waiting for their food. The Richmond market squid was excellent !!!!!!!! I ordered more food 2day. The dishes were fresh, hot, and tasty. Bought 6 dishes today. The food did not taste fresh as there was an overnight fridge taste to the food. The Gen. Tso's spicy chicken was not good. It was not spicy at all n even worse it was made with sweet n sour sauce, ( I hate sweet n sour sauce). The fried rice was abit hard meaning it was left over many days rice. The beef n broccoli was below average as the beef was cut into small pieces to make it look like there were many slices of beef when actually there was not. When you are very hungry, most foods will taste good. Unfortunately, the food this day was not good at all. The cook must've had a bad day as his heart...
Read moreMy family felt it was too hot in the house last night to cook, so we decided to try this restaurant that we've walked past for 20+ years but had not tried. We are so glad we did! Shanghai Soup Dumplings (Xiao Long Bao) are difficult to do properly, and Happy Chinese Restaurant makes surprisingly authentic ones--complete with house-made ginger-vinegar sauce. If you like mushrooms, the Chicken with Mushroom stir-fry dish offers plenty. We had requested reduced MSG and oil and the chef did an excellent job with our food, which also included Shanghai Style Fried Thick Noodle and Honey Garlic Beef. The ingredients were of high quality, the flavour was pleasing and the texture was just right. We noticed that most of the restaurant's business was take-out (we were the only dine-in patrons at about an hour before closing), which is a shame as the service and presentation are excellent. Although the dining room does not have air conditioning, it is cool and quiet with simple yet modern decor and furniture. It was also nice to dine at an establishment with modern porcelain dinnerware as opposed to the plastic dishes that some places use nowadays. I recommend people try dining-in at this hidden gem on the north side of...
Read moreA shame you can't leave negative starts because 1 is far too high. Ordered through the google website link for their business. The site was clunky and inefficient. We placed notes on a couple of dishes due to allergies that were not followed so that food went straight in the trash. The driver, who must be tipped on top of the delivery charge on a $120 order, could not find our door with specific notes on the order and then numerous texts and a call. The food arrived with over cooked won tons and each dish was loaded with filler and not much of the item ordered. If you want General Tao peppers and carrots with a hunt for chicken, this place is for you. Same was true of the pork. The chicken chow mein would have been below average for a food court. The rice couldnt be eaten because it contained items with allergy issues. We contacted the business directly and they took ages then asked if we could drive the food back to them. I told them to forget it and I would just post this review and never order from them again. One of the worst Chinese meals I have had in the Tri Cities and now I have a pricey meal in my garbage instead of...
