The atmosphere was fine, if loud. The server was really the biggest low point of the experience (of which there were a few low points). We came on Feb 12 with a party of four. The server rushed through the specials, which couldn't be heard over the TVs. It was immediately evident she was either having a bad day or really doesn't like her job. When returning with our drink orders, it was obvious that the syrup on the Coke was empty. Only someone not paying any attention at all would have missed that. Since she disappeared immediately after that, we flagged down the manager who couldn't apologize enough for that. We asked him to clarify what the specials were while he was there. He was able to project his voice enough to be heard over the TVs without yelling. The White Chedda and Parm and Herb wings had virtually no seasoning at all. The wings themselves (we ordered the above-mentioned wings, plus the Korean sesame wings and the lemon pepper wings) weren't seasoned or brined in advance. I was disappointed that we couldn't choose between baked or fried wings. Frankly, for a place called Wings, this was the most disappointing wings purchase I've had in a really long time. Maybe not ever, but definitely top five worst wings I've had. No Name frozen wings are leagues better. The fetuccini alfredo had virtually no flavour, as well. The person who ordered it preferred the wings the rest of us ordered, and they really don't like wings.
Another member of my party left a review. Someone from the restaurant replied and asked that he email the restaurant so they could discuss it further. He did, and their response was almost word for word what their response here said, along with a poorly spelled throw-away sentence apologizing for something he never mentioned in his review or email at all so clearly the restaurant is only appearing to care about customer service recovery when in reality they don't care at all.
We'll not return to this location and will spend our time and money at the Burnaby location. Or just get a box of cheap, frozen wings. Either way, we'll have a better experience than...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreToday we visited the restaurant. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was lovely. However, I was extremely disappointed with the staff, especially the manager.
The restaurant has arcade machines for children, but we were not aware of this ā nor that they only accept cash. My children wanted to play, but we didnāt have any cash on us. A gentleman from a nearby table kindly offered to pay for one game for my child. I remembered I had $2 in the car, so I went to get it.
When I came back, I asked the manager to change my $2 into two $1 bills so I could give one back to the gentleman and let my other child play one game as well. The manager exchanged the money and handed to my child. While speaking with him, I learned that the waitress could actually bring cash and add it to our table bill.
Knowing my children love playing, I asked the waitress to bring us extra money for two more games. She agreed ā but no money was ever brought to us. However, the amount was still added to our bill.
When I approached to ask about the money for the games, the manager, in front of other customers, started insisting that he had already given it to me ā even involving my child in the conversation, claiming he had given it to her. (In reality, these were my own $2 that I had asked to exchange earlier.)
Eventually, after a long conversation, he admitted that they still owed us the amount. But I was shocked by his unprofessionalism ā the public confrontation, the pressure, and the manipulative comments. It felt especially inappropriate given that it was Ukrainian Day at the restaurant, and from my cultural perspective, such situations should be handled discreetly. Involvement kids in adult conversation - is unacceptable at all.
His words ā ā$2 is not so much for me, I can give it to you if you are honestly sureā ā made it sound as if I were lying to get free money, which was both insulting and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAvoid this location like the Plague !! A group of of us went there Sat evening.
A big red flag was that it was dinner time on a Sat. Evening, UFC was on and the place was a ghost town!
Ordered the beer specials while looking over the menu, Went to order another and was told they are all out of that beer and then was told they were out of basically all but 3 beer out of at least 20.
Friends ordered double hi ball drinks that were extremely watered down and had no taste of liquor and being charged roughly $18/ drink.
The food orders came out 1 person at a time, with a 5-10 min wait for the next persons meal to come to the table. By the time the last order arrived. Half the the table had already finished their meals. (8 out of 10 ppl ordered wings).
2 people out of our party paid up and left. Moments later the waitress comes to the table to inform us that the 2 ppl that left didn't pay their entire bill because she forgot to add items on their bill . Then demanded that somebody pay for the forgotten items or else it would come out of her pay. We told her this was HER mistake and had nothing to do with us. It later turned out she Accidently mixed up the orders.
I went up to the bar to try and get some change for a $20 bill. I was informed that they had no cash on site and the manager was not in to open the register! I asked what would happen if somebody paid their tab in cash and needed change. She then remembered she had some tip money in nickels , dimes, quarters so she counted out all this pocket change !
Upon receiving the rest of our bills, and after a few of us paid and left tips, She then 'remembered' that groups of 6 or more have gratuities automatically added to the bills. But for the ones that had already paid. There was nothing she could do, she said, as the Manager wasn't there.
Needless to say, we will NOT be returning to...
