Golphis Steak & Lobster — Restaurant in Port Moody

So disappointed! This place needs to decide what kind of restaurant it is: steak house, pizza joint, or Mediterranean because it is failing at trying to be all 3. Don't waste your money here.

I wasted my birthday dinner on them. The calamari was flavourless, the ribs were dry and overcooked with some weird sauce on them that definitely was not BBQ. I've never seen a bay leaf stuck to BBQ before. The spaghetti was gross and inedible, not sure what meat they used but it was dry and crumbly and tasted awful as it disintegrated on my tongue, also there was some weird seasoning like cardamom that does not belong in spaghetti. The salad was bagged salad. Everything was overpriced for what it is. The wings were OK. The only good thing was the cheesecake, which wasn't anything special just a typical frozen cake that most restaurants have with a side of canned cherry pie filling to pour over it and runny whipped cream. More like an after thought. I couldn't even finish most of what I ordered it was that bad, and I am not a picky eater. Nothing was cooked or seasoned well.

The name is deceiving, they are not a high end steak restaurant, they are an over priced pizza parlor and from reading the other reviews it sounds like they need to stick with pizza and drop all the fancy dishes they are trying to push on their menu and then maybe they will be ok. We were excited to see the name of the restaurant with steak and lobster attached to it. We went in, sat down. There was a wide selection of food but decided we would have the most expensive meal in the menu, the Steak and Lobster. Took about 40 minutes for our salads to arrive. Nothing special, I can have better salad from a store bought bag with bottled dressing. Then the oil came, it’s supposed to be butter and garlic for the lobster, but it just tasted like kerosene. Then a bowl came with plastic containers for ‘the works’ in our baked potato. Finally after 50 minutes we got our steak and lobster . Everything on the plate was awful. The veggies were overcooked. The lobster was tough because it is old and it tasted really gross. The steak was dry and no flavour. It’s like eating dry rubber. The garlic bread did not even taste like garlic. The sad part is we already waited for sometime and to eat the worst tasting food we’ve ever had. We felt so cheated and robbed not just of money because of the lack of quality in the food, but also gave us bad after taste of the food. We had to order sushi a few blocks away to erase it. If we could turn back the time, we would have just skipped that horrific place. So if you are reading this, please stay away from this restaurant as far away as you can. You will be better off...

Took my mom here tonight for her 70th birthday. She hadn't been in decades but if the service and food tonight is par for the course, it will be decades before our next visit. Understaffing is where I think the bulk of issues stemmed from. One person in the kitchen and one server. There were only three table with people in the dining room but lots of people coming in for take out and delivery orders. So from the staff perspective, it was busy. The service was just slow and lacking. Everything took forever to arrive. Dirty plates weren't cleared even when the one server would walk past empty handed. Both myself and mom had steak. Hers was very stringy and mine was cold. Actually everything on my plate was cold except for the baked potato which was the temperature of solar core. Items that were brought to the table also seemed to indicate a restaurant more geared on take out than eating in. All the condiments and potato toppings were in tiny plastic tubs. The napkin on the table was 1-ply and was more decorative than practical. The ambient temperature was probably around 17 or 18 degrees which is too cold to be sitting still.
