Oh gosh. I'm not a critic normally of places to eat, but many people who'd eaten here years prior really recommended Dolly's to us to check out their food so we did. It was.....underwhelmingly poor? Maybe new management or owners or something but I will NEVER recommend this place unless/until things get better in all aspects. Food: My order was for their Crispy Shrimp Rolls and the Poutine, both side dishes and a Strawberry Fields Milkshake. Oh boy...😟 Shrimp Rolls - They didn't have them available. That's okay, stock happens. Poutine - I'm sorry, as a Canadian this was not poutine. Poutine is made with cheese curds and a nicely seasoned beef or pork or chicken gravy over crispy fries. This mess was soggy undercooked fries with a tiny amount of very finely shredded cheese and a gravy that had no flavour except salt. They had the basic concept down but it's insulting to call it poutine. Strawberry Fields Milkshake - The strawberry shake wasn't a shake, it was milk and an excess of strawberry flavoring that tasted like cough syrup with a shot of alcohol. It's really simple to make a strawberry milkshake that tastes great and I'm very disappointed that it wasn't as I'd at least partially hoped it would be. Service: Okay first of all you expect to see fish and seafood when you walk in right? For some reason there was....nothing. Shelves and shelves of stuff from Europe and Italy and other places obviously not Canadian-based. Odd but okay I guess? They claim they have fresh live crabs but their tank was under maintenance and in pieces. I was disappointed but it's a thing that machinery needs maintenance so no big deal. Now I'm pretty sure the folks running it are new to running a business and not to be even slightly racist but it was obvious that English wasn't their first language - we had repeat ourselves several times for the drink order and meal order. They were trying, and that's really appreciated, but it was obvious they were struggling with a lot of things. Attitude-wise everyone was friendly so that was nice at least! The waiters weren't in communication with each other at all though?? 2 people asked for our drink order alone (1 Peach Milkshake, 1 Strawberry fields Milkshake and 1 Rootbeer Float) and 1 fellow came back insisting that the peach shake that had been ordered was a chocolate shake that he was going to replace for us...the shake was white, obviously not chocolate, so we aren't sure where that idea came from. The Strawberry Fields was as described above and they forgot or hadn't written down on the ordering pad that the rootbeer float was a float and our person got a rootbeer in a can...we had to correct the order. It was almost an hour wait for the food after ordering, and in the meantime others who had ordered after us got their food while another group who'd arrived before us were still waiting for their order by the time we were finished. I won't discuss the other foods that were ordered, as I wasn't the one to eat them but I will say that none of us finished the food we had ordered and needless to say there was no tip added to the bill. I don't want to be mean or rude but I highly suggest the folks in charge get some training for their employees. You don't have to be super chatty, but good communication both verbal and written is essential in the service industry (with each other as well as customers) as well as skill in using equipment/making food, and if you lack those skills it's good to get them as soon as possible or the quality of your work doesn't get better.

I had a craving for fish and chips and poked around came upon this place, bright and airy and quite clean. I decided to try the halibut fish and chips with salad, the clerk was surprisingly very specific about how long it would take “seven minutes” while I was waiting I poked around a bit and explored the place, interesting and comfortable, the pricing is quite high especially when you consider the portion size which was not large, the order was given to me precisely seven minutes later piping hot, the Caesar salad was small but tasty and the tarter sauce was very good but the halibut was very bland almost dry though I’m not certain why, the batter was okay but it was missing something... Interesting experience I’d like to possibly try something else on the menu.

I wasn't impressed. I'd.recommend Smile's fish and chips over Dolly's. The staff forgot us on the patio and thought we'd ordered so we sat there for a while waiting. I was willing to leave after we drank the beer but my wife didn't want the kids to go longer without food. Fried Cod was a small piece of fish with a soggy batter that was thick around the fish. Smile's was way better, way more crispy and enjoyable. The gravy was also pretty small and is bigger at Smile's as well. I wouldn't go back to Dolly's. That said, my kids and wife liked their food (chowder and seafood nachos).

My partner and I were excited to try Dolly’s with the introduction of their new menu, but unfortunately, our experience left us disappointed. We started with crab cakes, clam chowder, and calamari. The calamari was one of the worst we've had – tough and rubbery. The crab cakes weren’t made with real crab, but imitation crab, and they were overcooked on the edges and undercooked in the center, resulting in a bland, unappealing dish. The clam chowder was watery and lacked the rich, creamy texture you’d expect from the dish.

I was especially eager to try the lasagna, but I have never been more confused by a dish. The sauce had no seasoning and an off-putting taste. There was also no ricotta cheese in the lasagna, which is typically a key ingredient. To make matters worse, the garlic bread that came with the pasta was a pre-sliced loaf from Safeway, poorly toasted with overcooked edges and a raw center. The chunks of fresh garlic were overpowering and left a bitter aftertaste.

Additionally, we found the behavior of the cook unsettling. Every time a dish was brought to our table, the cook would walk by and stare at our plates, which felt unprofessional and uncomfortable.

That said, our server was kind and friendly, even though the restaurant was mostly empty. When we gave feedback about the food, he admitted that he wasn’t a fan of the items we ordered either, which left us questioning why they were on the menu.

Overall, we left Dolly’s feeling unsatisfied and unlikely to return. I hope they can improve the quality and consistency of their dishes, as well as address the unprofessional behavior we...

I would not recommend at all. We went out for a 40th wedding anniversary and it was a terrible experience. We sat at 3 different tables to keep the distance required and were treated as 3 different tables, so it should not have been a issue serving us like everyone else. After 45 minutes of not having our drinks filled we had to get up and take our cups up and ask for a refill, then a hour and a half later and our appetizers still had not showed up but one of our tables had their appys and main and the other received their mains but not their appys. I asked what was going on and all I got was they were really backed up in the kitchen but yet everyone who was seated after us had their meals. I continued to try to find out where our food was and kept asking if they could at least bring our kids meal for my 17 month old Since it had been so long. They kept going and saying they were checking but would not come tell me what was happening. I had to ask 3 times to talk to their manager and they had one of their cooks come out and pretend to be the manager and got in my face then yelled at me for not keeping my distance when I tried to leave. I have never met so many disrespectful people In one place and it completely ruined my experience here and a 40th anniversary. My husband spoke to the “owner” who said she wanted to meet him and make it better but now she won’t return his call. I would ya caution if you plan on going there and don’t have to high of...
