I recently had the pleasure of dining at Smile's Seafood Cafe Ltd in Prince Rupert, and I must say, the food was truly delightful. The restaurant specializes in seafood dishes, and they definitely know how to impress with their flavors. The highlight of my dining experience was undoubtedly the food. From the moment the dishes arrived at the table, I could tell that they were prepared with care and attention to detail. The seafood was fresh, succulent, and perfectly cooked. Whether it was the mouthwatering grilled salmon or the delectable shrimp linguine, each dish showcased the natural flavors of the seafood and was a treat for my taste buds. If you're a seafood lover, this place will not disappoint. However, while the food certainly left a lasting impression, I must express my disappointment with the service. The overall attentiveness of the staff seemed lacking, and it took longer than expected for them to acknowledge our presence and take our orders. Additionally, during the meal, our server seemed somewhat inattentive, and it was challenging to get their attention when we needed something. This aspect of the dining experience did leave a lot to be desired and somewhat detracted from the overall enjoyment of the meal. Nonetheless, I would still recommend Smile's Seafood Cafe Ltd for the delicious food they offer. If you're willing to overlook some hiccups in the service department and focus on the culinary delights, you're in for a treat. The restaurant's cozy ambiance and the scrumptious seafood dishes are worth a visit, especially if you have a craving for fresh and flavorful marine cuisine. In summary, Smile's Seafood Cafe Ltd has the potential to be an outstanding dining destination in Prince Rupert, with its excellent food offerings. However, it would be even more impressive if they could work on improving their service to match the quality of their delectable dishes.

I found the place overhyped. The only reason to go there was that we wanted to sit in the patio as we had a puppy with us.I wanted to have medicine before food so I literally requested water bottle more than 3 times to a server.Twice i went inside to remind them we are sitting outside and ready to order. We ordered couple of items and also ordered a black coffee and a cappuccino.I told the female server 3 times for sugar still didn’t get it.There was no sugar in my coffee. Service very poor and slow. The restaurant had tables inside but if there is a customer table outside it should not be neglected. We had kids and puppy so we expected the prompt service from this restaurant. The fish and chips were average and the fries were not crisp at all. The portion size of sweet and spicy prawns was very small. I have had much better chowder in Vancouver and Seattle so there was nothing special about it.Too runny no creaminess. I think this place is pretty old and have a food legacy but need to upgrade its service standards.

Interesting little place very quaint food is very good and lovingly prepared, larger portions and better quality than their competitors, service was a little abrupt but I believe this was more due to English skills than rudeness, it was still attentive and swift and obviously with the purpose of my comfort and enjoyment of my meal. The place is family owned and not a huge corporate chain so I’m happy to patronize places like this that are the true fabric of the community, I love the dedication to local history displayed by the numerous photographs displayed throughout the restaurant it results in a very warm comfortable atmosphere that adds to the dining experience, the numerous customers all seem to truly enjoy their experience and I could help but to enjoy the positive energy generated by this place. One of the most pleasant dining experiences I’ve had in this region.

I dined here while on a cruise in September 2024. There are 3 people who work in this whole place. One lady takes orders, one kid cooks and the other cleans up. The place is too busy to get good service. The halibut and cod fish and chips and chowder are good. The Cesar is NOT. This is not the place for alcoholic beverages. One of our cruise peeps had a service dog. They were shoved into a back corner and were not given good service. It was clear the service dog was not welcome. After they were served their food they were forgotten about which was sad to see. They were great people just looking to try out a new place. Once my group was done dining we went to close out our check. If we hadn't been paying attention we would have been shorted $20. Luckily my husband was paying attention and spoke up. Be aware of places like this. As a tourist willing and ready to spend money I expected to have a...
