Two primary reasons created this rating. Firstly; when ordering takeout; that one is going to pick-up, the price per meal is approximately $4.50 higher than the menu price listed on the internet. Secondly; and most important, one realizes that the food that is being sent out from the restaurant is the food that would never be served to customers in the restaurant. The reason why....customers in the restaurant would NEVER accept the food that is being sent out as "take out" food. This is a perfect way to eliminate any unacceptable food - simply send it out to customers who by the time they're ready to consume it simply throw it in the garbage. We recently ordered 3 orders of single piece cod fish and chips along with an order of chicken strips with chips, the bill for the four meals was over $76.00 and when the food containers were opened the "food" went directly into the recycle bin. Thank you Gary's. As a long time customer of your facilities I'm sorry to say our relationship has come to an end. I do hope other customers are smart enough NOT to experience the same thing we did. By the way; this was the second time within a month that the same thing was...

We were in for lunch on September 27th, and were so disappointed, cool place with all the car memerobila, been in business for long time, figured they put out some great food, service was ok, food was the problem, maybe that is why you have a help wanted sign in the front window, should have been our warning. My son and myself ordered notches to share, they came cold, very little cheese, and just plain boring nothing on them, also two burgers and a salsberry steak burger, all three patties were over cooked and dried out, burnt side turned down so you could not see it. My sister commented the fries with the salsberry steak were good, rest went in the garbage, two other tables around us had to send food back, they were complaining between themselves, three tables left unhappy, hope you take these comments to heart, the owner should be working hands on making sure food is correct and up to standards before it leaves the kitchen and his patrons are happy, there is no excuse, when meals are $15 and up, we work hard for our money, I hope you make...

Not pleased. I ordered the Clubhouse sandwich. Ricky’s clubhouse is way better. I have had many Clubhouses and this is the worst. The bread was not toasted enough. (See photo). I don’t understand how a cook would put out a clubhouse like this and the server would serve it. I didn’t remember there being bacon in it but there must’ve been. I remember there being lots of lettuce. The sandwich came with beef barley soup. It was tasty but it was only lukewarm and gloppy. It wasn’t like a homemade soup because I am guessing that they used some sort of thickener.

Maybe this explains why the restaurant was so quiet. We were there from 11:30 am until about 2 pm. There couldn’t have been more than 5 parties during that whole time.

And their coffee was terrible. Maybe my expectations were too high because they charged $4.00 for a cup of it and it tasted very weak.

I loved the old car theme of the restaurant. It was very nostalgic. And the music was...

Came down from Courtenay. Nice place with excellent staff. Great decor if your a gear head. Nice high back chairs at some tables. A small sidewalk patio. Had the Fish and Chips, which alas where just fair. A bit undercooked, the batter was still gooey on the inside and Cod was just warm. $5 Liquor specials every day. Other meals going by looked great.

We had been here once before, a year ago. I wanted the same thing as last time. I ordered the turkey club in a wrap. A perfect balance of thin sliced turkey, mayo, and yummy bacon! For the side, they had split pea and ham soup, one of my favourites! It was excellent. Overall, lunch was again, awesome.
