We'd started our day out with a stop at this coffee place. At first, when my daughter explained to the staff that I was Celiac and asked about the flavour shots (if they were gluten free); she did so in French. She's been speaking French since she was 1, and wanted to utilize her skills while in the province. However, when the young male was making our coffees, a female staff member approached him and spoke about how she hated it when Non Francophone guests tried to speak French, that they speak horribly and she'd rather talk in English. I'm sorry, but isn't it rude to NOT try to speak French? Doesn't it show RESPECT when guests attempt to converse in the native language? I've traveled to many places over the globe, but this is the first place I've experienced this. The young male nodded towards my daughter and replied "like that one". He didn't even reference her a 'her'....just 'that one'. Funny thing? We both understood exactly what they said. I may not be fluent, by my daughter is...and I've been around enough French speaking individuals to understand almost everything. I was very disappointed with this attitude, and what's worse, my daughter was very upset. I spent quite a bit of time telling her she did nothing wrong and to just ignore...

My new husband and I are in Quebec city, on our honeymoon. We stopped in for a coffee and sandwiches while exploring Old Quebec. The one lady working there, long dirty blond hair was so rude. She skipped us entirely while waiting in line and when another customer pointed us out she shrugged and said her coworker would get our order. Then she came over and asked our order, rolled her eyes at us so often I thought she might lose them, was very short with my husband even though he was ordering in French. We were obviously being signed out and don't suggest you go here unless you really are from Quebec and French speaking. It should be noted the other staff were pleasant and tried to cover for their coworkers unprofessional and rude behavior but that only goes so far. Definitely never coming back when there are plenty of other cafes that are not annoyed...

This location is a must for having a coffee during a romantic walk in Petit Champlain. You can sit on the terrace in the heart of Place-Royale, where Quebec City was founded.
We ordered a pistachio Donut, Crepe, and coffee. Man, this donut- nothing I ever had... too good. I ordered more to have it for dessert after dinner.
This casual and attractive café right on the corner of scenic Place Royale is a great place to stop for an afternoon pick-me-up, be it coffee or various indulgent sweets. For a light lunch, there are yummy sandwiches, quiches, and soups. There are other branches elsewhere in the city that are just as good, just not as...
